can anyone tell me :confused3 ... what's the one-way cab fare :drive: : between Animal Kingdom Lodge and...

Animal Kingdom® Theme Park - 7ppl (20-25 min. by bus vs. 6 by taxi) :hourglass:
Epcot® - 7ppl (only 22 min. by bus but we've got an ADR to keep :thumbsup2
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground - 2ppl (over an hr by bus) :snail:
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - 2 or 4ppl (over an hr by bus; ~20 by taxi)
Pop Century Resort -2 ppl (3/4 to 1 hr. by bus) :rolleyes1
Port Orleans Resort - Riverside - 2 to 4 ppl (over an hr by bus; 18 by taxi) :snail:
Wilderness Lodge - 7ppl (over an hr by bus/ ~19 by taxi)

also I need to know the one-way cab fare between Port Orleans Resort Riverside and Wilderness Lodge - 7ppl (it's 3/4-1 hr by bus) :snail: :snail: :snail:

Right now I'm weighing the cost of multiple cab fares with a car rental combined with taxi fares for those times when there's more than 5 of us going together. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Where did you get your time frames?

AKL to AK is no more than a five minute bus ride. You can walk there faster than twenty minutes!

I can't much help you with cab fares, but wanted to point out that your travel times are pretty off the actual mark.

We have never paid anymore than $20 for a taxi including tip going from the GF to DTD which is just about a 10 min ride with lights. Buses don't run resort to resort so if you need to get to an ADR from your resort to another leave yourself plenty of travel time or take the taxi directly there. Your time frames for all seem to be a bit off unless you are overcompensating to give yourself the extra time.

Last year cost $25 with tip. I'll never use a taxi unless DESPERATE!!! Leave time to get where you're going!

If you're seriously planning on using cabs everywhere, you may be better off staying not in a Disney resort. We used one once going from the YC to AKL (late in the evening on NYE) and it was cheap, maybe $15 or so? It is convenient to use to go from one resort to another, but the busses at AKL are very convenient; they don't share with another resort. The downfall of AKL is that you can't walk anywhere; I disliked that by our third stay there. We probably won't stay there again.

This is the reason why we take the taxi's everywhere because the GF is a shared bus and we are always the last one's picked up and dropped off. At least AKL is not a shared bus but you are right you can't walk anywhere.

Just got back 2 weeks ago. Cab fare from AKL to BC at Epcot was $12 without tip.

Car rental (which we picked up and dropped off at the Dolphin) was $40 per day.

I used the transportation wizard @ http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx and added the 5-10 min. suggested for each stop (when multiple stops). Can anyone confirm these figures?

yep, to go from AKL to GF (or POR) we'd have to take the bus to DAK then transfer to a bus to GF (or POR). Ditto Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. The transportation wizard states - "* Add 5-10 minutes at each segment wait time for transportation." so that's what I did to get these numbers. And, that's why I'm now trying to determine if we get a taxi or car rental on certain days.

thanks for your idea but.... When it's over an hour to get from AKL to WL to get to your own 80th b'day party, that's unacceptable. My threshold is about 30-40 minutes; after that I'm calling a cab or renting a car!

the point of staying at AKL is b'c it's the next best thing to a trip to safari so staying off property won't work this time. (Another time and I'd pick a more convenient hotel like the Swan/Dolphin but this is special.)

Special ADRs planned at Narcossee's (GF), Artist's Point (WL), and Epcot (Akershus Character Bfast) as well as special events at POR (fishing excursion) and FW (horseback riding) would make me add even more time to ensure we don't miss our reservations so that's why I'm considering cabs.

thanks, that helps. BTW, little E did great at the shootout didn't he?! (BTW, #88 was DW's # back in the 70s?!)
