What's a Miuchiz?

my ds9 tells me he wants a Miuchiz for Christmas. I looked at one at WalMart, and I can't quite seem to figure it out (but I'm sure he will!). From what I can tell its a computer game. You can go online and play with other players. There's a Boyz group--that sounds weird right there! Are there any type of parental controls? How can I ensure he doesn't chat with weirdos? Anyone have this game and can give some advice about it? I was thinking of buying him Microsoft Flight Simulator instead

I am sorry that I do not know anything about this game but I will ask DS when he gets up. There is a host of internet interactive games out there right now and you have to be so careful. There is one that a lot of DS friends play but we have held very tight reigns on this. Just too easy to give false info. I would google it and see what info you can find.
NOw I am interested, might have to try that too.

It's the newest virtual pet. You can play it on the handheld or go online and play with others.

Depending on the price I don't know if I'd get it, especially if the online part will be a no no (it's highly restricted here in my house) becuase virtual pets just don't seem to hold kids interest for very long. I haven't toyed around with it so I don't know if it has an 'off' or if it's like a Tomagachi or Neopets where you have to constantly take care of it or it dies.

My dd had a Tomacachi last year and was very upset when it died. We even buried it in the backyard!

The Muichiz toy just sounds too weird. Both my kids are getting laptops this year, we figure they will need them soon enough for all their school projects so it keeps them off our computers. I'm also buying them some software, ds is getting MS Flight Simulator, haven't figured out yet for dd.

The whole interactive thing makes me nervous. We only allow them online with a parent in the room, for a limited period of time, and we have Net Nanny. Still you can't be too careful. I think I'll pass on this Muichiz thing, they'll get over it!

DD is getting the Bratz Miuchiz for Christmas. I got her both of them. From what I saw, there are 2 monster ones, 2 dog (?) ones, and 2 bratz ones. They can talk to each other - I figure if DD has a friend over, they will each have one to use.
I checked out miuchiz.com - not a lot of info, but it appears you can download additional content to the game and interact online with others. I'm assuming it works like toontown, where you can only use preformatted choices for chat.

Ok, so you really need two to play together? Do they both need to be the same type--Bratz, monster, pet? How does one kid play with just one--go online? I have two kids--maybe get two of the pet type? Its getting tooooo complicated!

You can go online with just one, but if you have two they can talk to each other. I went with both the Bratz on the assumption that Cloe would not want to talk to a monster, and a monster would not want to talk to a pet
I don't know if each different kind can talk to another "breed".
One kid can still play with just one, online or off. To me it looks like the Pixel Chix; you can play with one just fine, or connect them to the other ones so the characters can interact.

um.. i know what a miuchiz look like but that doesn't help
and a miuchiz has a color push button screen and also go
to google and find some things about miuchiz if you want to look what it is and it's to play online or you can play with your friend's miuchiz
