Whats a good plan for Kong with no EP??

Our plans are likely to change due to my husbands work. I was wondering if we are not able to get EP what are some plans to go over to IOA from the Studios after EE. Also how long are the usual wait times?

I was able to ride Kong without an EP thanks to early entry. I was at Hogsmeade during EE and was waiting at the walkway to head towards Kong. I was able to ride the second day with no issue and pretty much walked straight to the ride. So being there as soon as it was open is key. A lot of guests were using this tactic.

I was there during the week it was extremely slow other than Kong and I just didn't think EP was worth purchasing for one ride. Try to get EP if you going on the weekend but if you can't. Be there when Kong opens

There is also a single rider line for Kong. Won't get to ride with your family members but you will get to stand in the short line all together.

If Kong is a priority with a short line, consider doing rope drop at IOA even if the EE is at USO. You will spend a fair amount of that first hour traveling via HE or walking back out the front gates where you could just start at IOA 30 minutes before and walk onto Kong. Good luck!

Thank you. we had reservations at RPR but due to work schedule we have to rebook for the same time which is Oct 23rd - Oct 27th. So if I go to early EE and then start walking 30 min before IOA opens or take HE I should be ok I would think?

At 10/10.30 am this morning regular queue for Kong was 30 minutes and stayed that way for a while........

EP was a total walk through, no queue at all.

I hate when things pop up and plans have to change we were all set but I guess the main thing is that we are there. My husband and I love Kong and want to make sure that this is one ride we get on.

We liked Kong a lot......I know folks moan about screens, but it is fun.......and Kong himself is a sweetheart

We went on the old one 16 yrs ago for our honeymoon so this ride means alot.. Thank you again for the info

Are you sure? I was just there from 9/11-9/13 and when we asked about a single rider line, the TM said there wasn't one because the attraction was still new.

OP: When I was there last week, wait times averaged 60-75 minutes. We got to IoA at rope drop when it opened at 9 AM (no early access) and waited about 15 minutes to ride it. We saw the wait time was then about 25 minutes and quickly got in line to ride it again, but the ride broke down while we were in the queue so we ended up waiting about 40 minutes the second time.

Yes I had the same experience. I went a week earlier than you and no single rider line.

We were there when It first opened. Aug 14-17. It was before they had express pass. Maybe no single rider line since there's express pass

If you're at IOA first thing in the morning when the park opens, you can make a beeline for Kong and be on it without any significant wait. Saturday we did this and walked right on. You just want to be at the park gate 15-30
minutes prior to scheduled opening time (they'll open the gates 10 mins or so before schedules time).

I wouldn't mess with EE at Universal if Kong is your top priority; guests entering IOA when it first opens will arrive to Kong earlier than people taking the Hogwarts express over from USF.
