What's a good camera for Disney?

If you do not have a high performace digital memory card, it takes a long time for the file to write to the card. I have the Kodak "high performance" 2 gigabyte sd card in mine.

I agree with that. I purchased a 4GB "ultra" high capacity SD card (HCSD) for my Panasonic to help with the speed of the camera writing to the card. That is supposed to help the camera get ready faster for the next shot.

So how quick did the nikon S210 take pictures? I need to take several really quickly... to catch all those priceless moments. :goodvibes Did you have to wait long inbetween pictures?

I just bought the Cannon S5 IS. It has 8.0MP, a fantastic zoom of up to 48x, and a pretty decent shutter speed. Plus it was under $350. The camera is great and has tons of features.

I didnt have to wait very long inbetween pics adn i was able ot catch everythign i wanted BUT i also wasnt taking pictures of those priceless moments with kids ( im the babysitter, that was their parents job;) ) but i thought it was pretty fast adn very good quality pics adn its relatively cheap (i think the S210 is now like $180)...i think for an "inexpensive" camera, it is a really good camera, but it might not be exactly what you are looking for

We just got a Nikkon D60 and are anxious to take it to WDW....The wife wanted the quick shutter speed also. So far it is a great camera and I am learning more and more all the time.

i have the canon dslr rebel which i will be taking with me-for fireworks..that kind of stuff. i also have the sony cybershot ds120 and i love it! it fits in my pocket and is a quick little bugger!

I got the new Panasonic DMC-TZ5. My requirements were at least a 6X zoom (but wanted 10X) and also wanted to be able to take pictures quickly. My old Olympus digital was the SLOWEST camera I ever had. I missed so many shots with that thing, I hated it. It made me want to go back to my old film camera.

My new Panasonic is pretty fast and has a lot of great features (many which I haven't used yet) but including a 10X optical zoom which I love. It also has a fairly wide angle lens setting that was very handy at WDW when wanting to get the shot without having to move so far back.

Also, it's pretty small for a camera with that size zoom but not as small as those tiny 3X zoom cameras. I really did a lot of searching and reading reviews and was down to either this camera or a Canon. I'm glad I got this one. It also has a movie mode that came in handy at Disney.

The Panasonic has a rechargeable battery that easily lasted all day for my purposes. If you use the picture review feature, it seems to eat the battery so I avoided that. I will look into getting a second battery for my next trip so I don't have to worry about that.

As far as speed, it is fairly quick when not using the flash. I had no problems getting all of the pictures I wanted. When using the flash, it is a bit slower and I had to wait a couple seconds but still nothing like my SLOW Olympus, but still not as fast as my old film camera. My understanding is that the only way to get really fast digital camera is to get a Digital SLR, which are not small and not what I wanted (as I wanted a point and shoot).

I bought the TZ4 (which has a few minor differences0 and I LOVED it for our Disney trip. Perfect size (fit in my fanny pack) and fast pictures :) At home, I use a Nikon D80 but I really loved the smaller camera to carry around the parks!
