the parks?

Info that may help your answers:
It will be Me, DH, Son 7 and Son 10. Hubby and kids have never been...this is our very first family vacation to Disney.
Staying at CSR and added dining plan. We will be there for a total of 5n/6d. Plan on going to DisneyQuesy the first full day

Kids each have a $100 Disney gift card and about $15 more in Disney Dollars and when it's gone, it's gone!

I know we will have tips for the DDP and mousekeeping but what is a good amount to figure for our family on a daily basis...I say I'm not a big souvie person but who knows if that will hold true once I get there!!
Oh...I also want to buy a little something for some friends and family....2 adults and 6 kids, any suggestions of where to get decent priced trinkets?
Thank You!

Can't really comment on the spending. Most of the stuff in the parks is pricey. We hit the Disney outlets first and then if we can't find anything I let the kids get one thing in the parks.

Just wanted to comment on the DisneyQuest. If you are there 5-6 days, we find it best to use Disney Quest as a "relaxation" day in the middle of the week. Two to three days of hard park time is tiring and DQ is a place where you don't have to walk all day.

I was wondering about this too. We are staying 7 days and also have the dining plan. We are planning on letting our daughter have $75.00 for spending money on souvenirs. We are planning on about 75-100 dollars a day for tips, breakfast, and other miscellaneous items. I love having the meals paid for already (except for tip).

I can't help with the souvenirs. Our 2 DS's (10 & 9) didn't ask for anything (I know it's hard to believe). They were more interested in the rides and following the maps for each park. Eating- we didn't do the DP- way to much food. We have the TIW card, which worked out better for us. Good luck:thumbsup2

Thank you everyone!! I'm just going to figure around 100/day for tips and anything extra we want.

I'm probably not much help either. We're staying 4n/3d with DDP and driving from NC.

I budgeted about $600 to take with us. It will cost us about $300 in gas, which leaves us with about $300 for tips and park money. My DD will be getting the gift card because it's her birthday, so that will help as well....

Not sure about tips, etc. b/c it will depend on how much your meals cost (my brain doesn't pay attention to stuff like that when in in my happy place ), but for cheap souvies, there is a Walmart a few minutes outside of the park.

The Disney section in it is huge! When I was there last year they had clothing, mugs, bags, keychains, etc., so there would be a big variety and a big price range to choose from. Also, at this time of year they should have tons of Xmas stuff.

Enjoy your trip...... we leave in 16 days!!!!

Didn't the the DDP, so sorry can't help there.

Something nice to bring back to family and friends that won't break the bank are the Disney annual Christmas ornaments. Last year at DTD in the Christmas Shoppe they had many different kinds. I bought the "flat" porcelain ornaments and I think they were right around $10 each. I'm sure you can find ornaments in all the parks as well.

DH & I are not big souvie people either, but there are many unique items that you may see that you like. I did get DH a vintage looking Mickey t-shirt that he wears all the time, I got one of the holiday tote bags that was on sale for $10. We bought our DDs a few things for Christmas while there.

Have a wonderful trip!
