What's a fun coffee maker?

My son likes to get coffee at convenience stores and Dunkin Donuts, so I thought I could get him some kind of coffee machine that makes some kind of specialty coffee. So far I have seen the Mr. Coffee Frappe maker which looks like fun, but it's an icy drink and it's pretty cold here. Then there is the Cappucino maker - is that coffee or what? Anybody have a fun coffee machine that they could recommend?

Keurig. It makes single cups and you can choose from hundreds of different cups (called kcups). Coffee is brewed under a minute and there is no mess to clean up!! I love mine!

ETA: Dunkin Donuts now makes k cups! They sell them at DD.

I agree- get him a Keurig. They have cappuccino k-cups as well as other specialty coffees and hot chocolate. Both Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks also make k-cups.

My husband is getting a mini Keurig for Christmas to use at his office.

If he likes specialty coffees like cappacinos and lattes I would get a Tassimo. We have one and our teens love making cappacino, lattes and hot chocolate. It steams and froths the milk for you. I don't think they've been to Dunkin Donuts since we got it.

This! If he wants more than just coffee, Tassimo is the way to go! We've had ours for a year and still love it! They just came out with peppermint mocha! Yes, the Kuerig has a million more flavors of coffee, but I've used both and IMO the Tassimo is a far superior machine.

I like the Tassimo but my Keurig rules. I love my Keurig so much that I now have one at each of my three offices and one at home. Dunkin Donuts sells coffee k-cups.

Yes. I would recommend the Keurig too. You can get all kinds of specialty coffee. Plus you can make hot cocoa and tea.

Its really great for our family because everyone drinks something different. DH drinks decaf, mom and dd drink regular coffee, I drink tea, younger dd likes cocoa.

And Mister Coffee now has a Keurig-compatable machine. Its here at Amazon, but I furst saw it at my local Wal Mart this weekend.

Agree with the non-Keurig suggestion if he likes specialty coffee drinks, like lattes, cappucinos, etc.

The Keurig thing is just a hot water machine, basically. You sound like you want something that'll steam and froth milk and give him options. There are plenty of those, in alllll different price ranges.

Maybe this kind of thing - though that particular one doesn't have good reviews (I dunno why actually, didn't read them, was just looking for an example). I know Starbucks sells some. But you can do espresso (which you use to make capuccinos and lattes) and brew regular coffee, and steam milk (for the aforementioned lattes and cappucinos) with that one machine.
