What's a "Celebration" for a dining reservation?

Our Travel Agent made our two breakfast reservations (Donald's Safari Breakfast and Princess Storybook - the only ADRs we're making this time), and said that she noted my DD's birthday on the reservations (we are celebrating her birthday during our trip). What does that mean for the reservation? Do they do something special or is it just noted by someone or what's the deal? :) We've never had a big celebration and WDW so this is new. :) Thanks!

Likely not much. I wouldn't expect much more than possibly singing Happy Birthday and a cupcake. I'm never exactly sure what people are expecting to happen when they ask this. Sometimes nothing happens at all, but more likely they'll go the cupcake route. Sometimes they decorate the table, or give out cards or actual desserts for free. I wouldn't go so far as to tell the child to expect that anything special is going to happen though.

Cool, thanks! I don't think DD needs any more excitement... we'll be in Disney World afterall, she'll have plenty of excitement just meeting the characters! :)

I noted all of the birthdays that would be taking place during our recent trip. I did this upon making the ADR's. Well, each place we went knew nothing about the "surprise" until I mentioned it to the waitstaff. So, they may not know at the actual restaurant. When I did tell them, it was different each time. The castle dinner gave my DD a cupcake with a candle and did a group celebration song for anyone in the whole place celebrating something. Coral Reef brought my Dad a dessert with a chocolate ribbon that read Happy Birthday on it. It all depends!

i clicked on the "add celebration" option on the online ADRs just to see what it said...i chose that i was celebrating a Personal Triumph....well, turns out once you add a celebration there is no obvious way to remove it :scared1:
oops...well, i am glad to hear that this really may not mean much or otherwise i would have to say my personal triumph was getting all my ADRs...haha

I checked the celebrate option on all 5 reservations and only my cousin Debbie at the 50s asked me what I was celebrating. I had no idea what to expect, but it wasn't much.
