What's a beach lover to do if it's raining?

I just looked at the weather forecaset for the Bahamas this week.

It says there's going to be t-storms all during our 10/9 cruise. :scared:

It appears as if the tropical storm along the western Gulf is sending rain all the way to FL and beyond. :worried:

What is there for a beach lover to do during all of these t-storms? :umbrella:

Would you believe that it pays the DCL bills? :boat:

BTW - Most of our 10,000 lakes come with beaches, just not Caribbean ones...;)

I sit here, MNTigger, most humbly corrected (always thought those "beaches" consisted of rock)...

You're forgiven!

You are correct as well though. ::yes:: The other lakes not included in "most" do have rocky shorelines...especially the "BIG" one.

After spending most of my summers in the formative years on Padre Island, TX, I do have to admit that I prefer ocean beaches best. Especially one in particular on Rarotonga, Cook Islands!

If you can't go there, you might as well go on a DCL cruise!:)

One thing about tstorms down there versus what usually happens in our neck of the woods. They tend to move through very quickly. You could have a strong tstorm for 5 minutes then have the rest of the day in sun. Might even miss where you are altogether. All you can do is go and deal with whatever happens.

we were scheduled to go on the 5 star St. John snorkle. I remember thinking the guy was a jerk when he said in the caribbean we call this liquid sunshine. BUT he was right, we were going to get wet anyhow and it was a warm rain. It moved out very fast and we spent most of the day in the sun. Unless it is lightening out I would still head for the beach, the storms move very quickly in the tropics!

MNTigger-

We just celebrated the second anniversary of our move from MN to FL. If there's one thing I've learned since moving here, it's that the weather forecasts are pretty useless. The weather in this corner of the world changes very quickly. Even on the rare occasion that it rains all day, there will not be thunder all day.

I hope you get a beautiful day in the sun, but if not, as Ann and MarkRG have wisely suggested, plan on going and enjoying the beach, rain or shine.:sunny:

BD-

There are a lot of beach lovers in MN. There's nothing like 3 solid weeks in January when the temperature never crawls above 0 degrees Fahrenheit to foster a healthy appreciation for the
Carribean!:smooth:

Thanks everyone! I'm going to have faith that any rainshowers will be brief and refreshing! :p
