Whatever.......

My DH hates when I say this to him during an argument it just burns him up. Of course now that I know that I take great care not to say it to him Hehehehe....I can't help it sometimes it just pops out. The good thing is now I can't stop laughing when I say it

Is there any phrase that just drives you or your SO nuts?

My DH hates when you add "ish" to the end of a time...like we'll meet at the bar around 8-ish.

He also SERIOUSLY hates the new terminology of "walk-off home run" to end the baseball game. It's a "GAME-WINNING HOME RUN!!!"

DH hates it when I say "nothing"...as in

DH: What's wrong, honey?
ME: Nothing.

Picture that over and over and over and over and over and over.... He wouldn't ask if it weren't clear that SOMETHING is wrong so he prefers I just spill it. I, on the other hand, like to tourture him and wait 'till I'm ready to talk!! Or I just don't know how to say what I need to say so I'm stalling until I know how to approach the subject the right way (read: without hurting or insulting him.).

Married life is FUN!!!!!

DH has a habit of saying "Huh?"...even when he hears what I say. I will say "you heard me" and he then answers the question, or responds, so I know he heard me. He just HAS to say "Huh". Then he also does the opposite. Like if hes watching tv and I say something he will sort of moan in agreement, when I know he has no idea what Im saying.

My DH says, "I don't know" a lot. It drives me nuts!

Me: "Where did you put the ____?"
Him: "I don't know."

Me: "What are we doing today?"
Him:"I don't know."

And on and on, I won't bore you with more examples. The thing that is annoying is that most of the time he does know, it's just a reaction for him to say "I don't know" first. ARGH!

Another one that bugs me is 'don't got' (which is kinda funny..cause I used to say that all the time when I was a kid..drove my mom nuts )

LOL One of my children ONCE said "Whatever!" to me in the middle of an arguement, and I said (in that deadly quiet Mom voice) "WHAT did you just say to me?" Poor kid went white as a sheet!! LOL Haven't heard that phrase again!

If we were arguing about something fact-based and disagreed on certain facts, my DH would say something along the lines of, "Yeah, well, lets remember who went to MIT and who didn't!" Now you know part of the reason why he's my EX-DH. (We get along GREAT as ex-spouses, BTW!)

My DH has a habit of not answering when I ask him something! You would think after 29 years I would be used to it, but I'm not. So I will say, Answer me Please! That makes him upset because he says I should know he is thinking. But I have always felt like he should say well or something just so I will know he heard!

DH and I both say "whatever" to each other, and I also say "bite me" too, but usually not to him, but others that make me mad What bothers me about Dh is when we're in a heated discussion and I say something to him looking for a response and he doesn't give one! I ask him if he has anything to say, and he ALWAYS says "What do you want me to say?" I hate that!!

I'm a big fan of Whatever too. It not only drives my DH nuts, it drives me nuts too. Its a habit, I guess, but I wish I didn't say it so much. Its just so negative.
