Whatever happened to that dog

I think it was in Kansas City area, but I'm not sure. It's family went through the hurricane and had to stay with other family that wouldn't allow a dog so they found someone to watch it and that person refused to return it.

Does anyone remember this, was there ever any resolution? I just have been thinking about that dog lately and wondered what happened. TIA

I haven't heard anymore about this poor dog except someone offered his real owners a puppy and that was a few months ago.
