Whatever happened to SSR booking categories?

Hi all. I remember awhile ago there was some push by SSR owners here to get DVC to implement booking categories for SSR. I was wondering if anything ever came of it? (I assume not since I just made an SSR ressie and no one asked about booking category).

Just curious if this idea is gone...

Nope. Never gained any traction.

DVC's claim is that they have a high degree of success in putting people in their preferred area of the resort without need for separate categories. Personally I still think owners would be more likely to book at SSR if they could guarantee a preferred section of the resort. But apparently DVC doesn't see the benefit.

Bummer. I always liked the idea. I'd stay there anyway but I guess I think I should have preference for a good view over someone from another resort who is forced to stay at SSR b/c it's the only place that had availability at 4 months out. Anyway, I can't get too excited over it. Thanks, Amy
