So what are you guys reading currently? If you want you can put a review when you finish :) I will start I am reading If I Stay By Gayle Foreman. It is good so far :goodvibes

I don't read in the summer.

Even if I had it for summer work,I wouldn't do it because I'm couch potato. ~

The play Once in a Lifetime by Kaufman and Hart - it's the fall play my school is doing this year so I need to learn the story and characters :goodvibes

Well, I just finished reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky, and it...was... FANTASTIC!!!! :thumbsup2
I'd definetly recommend it!!!

Now, I'm going to read through the Hunger Games series a second time.
Whoop whoop!

What is the perks of being a wall flower about?

It's about this boy named Charlie who starts High School, and he meets these two seniors named Sam and Patrick, and they become friends. The story is told through letters, and it's about Charlie's experiences through high school with his new friends.
It sounds kinda boring, but it's actually really good.
But it's a little... risque I guess. There's, like a lot of mention of drugs, and other stuff.

Thanks, I think I will read it!

Horrible Histories - Groovy Greeks and Rotten Romans.

I have three books I want to read (Rivers of London, Moon Over Soho, and Touched By An Angel), but I still need to order them from Amazon.

I recently read the first Kingdom Keepers because it sounded interesting. I thought it was pretty cool. I liked it enough I'll read the others.

Before that I reread the Hunger Games series.

I recently read Ella Minnow Pea for my summer AP English project, and I loved it! I'm currently reading The Resurrection of the Romanovs: Anastasia, Anna Anderson, and the World's Greatest Royal Mystery. It's very interesting.

I'm reading Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. It's my summer reading for school. I personally prefer her Mortal Instruments series to this book.

Just finished Of Mice and Men, I need to read Story of a Girl, and I will soon be reading Call of the Wild, and I'm also reading Harry Potter every night.

I am currently reading The Big Sleep. For this summer i had to read The Big Sleep, The Lovely Bones, and The Catcher in the Rye. I finished The Lovely Bones and The Catcher in the Rye. And they were both pretty good books. :)

I had to read Of Mice and Men and Call of the wild for school last year. Of Mice and Men was a very good book, in my opinion. It was way better than other books i've had to read for school. Call of the Wild was okay, not the best though. :/

I have read books that I believe were kind of like knock offs of Call of the Wild and liked them, however I found Of Mice and Men very prejudicial. I understand that prejudice is a theme of the book, but I don't like how they make it out as though women are the root of everyone's problem.

Getting off of point, does anyone else get annoyed by books that make girls total lumps, like they're unable to do anything? That angers me a lot, which is one of the reasons I love Harry Potter. It had many strong female characters, whereas the Twilight Saga makes Bella seem vulnerable and weak. I mean, what girl in their right mind would do the following...

Edward: Listen Bella, I know you love me, but I'm dangerous.
Bella: I don't care how dangerous you are I want to spent eternity with you
Edward: No seriously I might bite your neck and suck your guts out.
Bella: Okay, bite my neck and take away my soul right now, I'm all for it!

:headache:

Sorry to twilight fans, but that is just my opinion, and I hope it in no way offends or upsets you or makes you think bad of me as a person!

I totally agree. There needs to be more books with strong female characters who can live without having some person protecting them all the time. I mean, seriously?

Thank you!!!! All of my friends for some reason love books where there always has to be a hero.
I'm one of those girls who takes offence when a guy says something like, "You know it's polite to give your seat up to a lady!" A member of my family said that didn't want to talk to him afterwards. I said to a woman in my family, "This is the 21st century, where woman are actually considered capable beings, don't push us back to the suffrage!" I also refuse to walk through Morocco when the belly dancer is preforming, as it glorifies the fact that showing off your body and being pretty is more important than being smart or kind and caring! It's stuff like that that gets me annoyed, and books like Twilight don't help.

Currently I am attempting to read All the King's Men by Robert Penn Warren for my AP English class and not enjoying it. Any of those that have read it does it get better? haha I hope! I also read Three Cups of Tea this summer and it was fabulous definitely reccommend it andd the Kingdom Keepers as well. Can't wait for V!! :)
