Whatcha reading?

I'm almost finished with Just After Sunset by Stephen King. I have to say I'm not liking it - boring.

I'm getting ready to start "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks - just finished reading "Sunset" by Karen Kingsbury - it was good although I had no idea it was Christian fiction - different for me - but it was fine.

Anyone read Diane Mott Davidson's culinary series? I finished The Main Corpse this morning. I didn't use to like her books but decided to give them a try and started at the very beginning. I'm liking them more now.

I have read all Diane Mott Davidsons books. I didn't like them at first, but really got into them as I kept reading. I am waiting for her new one to come out.

I just picked up Critical by Robin Cook. I haven't read any of his in a long time.

I'm reading Heat by Bill Buford. It's about working in a famous restaurant in Ny. So far it's a very interesting book

I have read all the Mott Davidson books. They can be a little repetitive and not really a deep series, but they are fun to read. I liked them!

I haven't read any of his books in many years.

I just finished reading Multiple Blessings by Kate Gosselin (I'm a fan of the show but the book was pretty boring - nothing really that you wouldn't already know if you watch the show).

Last night I started reading the new book by Dean Koontz - Your Heart Belongs to Me (I think). So far so good but I did hear that it got sorta bad reviews but we'll see. I'm a fan of his so I'll prob. like it.

I just read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I am hoping that my husband brings the next book in the series, New Moon, home to me tonight. A friend was supposed to bring it to him today.

My older sister has the 4 books of the Twilight series. I don't know if those books are good, I never even read a single page. To be honest I am currently reading the answers in this thread. :D

I have a very long daily commute, so I listen to my books.

I just finished Waiter Rant by the Waiter. Some parts were hysterical, some made me cry, and some made me very ashamed of my fellow humans.

It's a very sad day when someone is more concerned with at which table they are seated in a restaurant than their fellow diner being rushed out via EMS due to a stroke. :headache:

I also listened to the fourth installment in David Baldacci's Camel club series, Divine Justice. Great read!

Im about 20 pages away from finishing The Color Purple and I finaly finished Harry Potter 7 (but im sad its over). Some day Ill finish Breaking Dawn, Ive got maybe 100 pages left and I just havent had time to finish it. Next up will br East of Eden by John Steinbeck because Ive heard many great things about it.

OMG. I just finished the Sookie Stackhouse series. What am I going to do now??? Those books were like Lays potato chips -- can't eat just one. And the worst thing about those books is that they're such fluff that I'd devour one in a sitting or two. :rotfl:

Ideas for a good meaty read, anyone? :rolleyes1

Ooh, I love the Stackhouse Series! I agree they are a quick read. I am re-reading Breaking Dawn for the third time. I think I will go for Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett next.

I'm going to have to look up the Stackhouse series now that I've caught up with the Stephanie Plum set. I finished Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich today. There's only #14 left to read but I'm going to wait until it comes out in paperback.

Pillars of the Earth was excellent. I couldn't put it down while I was reading it. Luckily when I pulled my back out last year it was what I was reading so I didn't mind being stuck on the couch for a few days. The second one is really good too, World Without End.

What is the stackhouse series? I just finished up the Stephanie Plum books and I've read the Twilight series. I'm all caught up on all my othe authors I keep up with and don't see that any of them have anything coming out real soon. I'm reading through the Narnia series, right now I'm on book 3 but they are quick reads and I expect to finish quickly.

Anyone read Kathy Reichs? I got a bunch of her books at the used bookstore the other day. I just wish I hadn't finished the Stephanie Plum books so quickly. They were so funny and entertaining and easy reads. Anybody know anything similar to them? I've already read the Sue Grafton books.

kt mom, if you like to read series, I suggest JD Robb's In Death series or Diane Mott Davidson's cooking series. Both have a number of books to keep you busy.

The Stackhouse Series is by Charlaine Harris. Sookie has the ability to read minds of humans, but in her world there are also vampires. They are very entertaining and a quick read. The HBO series, True Blood is based on this series of books.

Thanks! I'll have to look into those. Sounds interesting. I loved the Twilight books.

Anyone ever read The Bell Jar? It's next on my list.
