I just got started on the second book in the Southern Vampire mysteries, Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris.

I'm also very slowly working on Deepak Chopra's Life After Death, which was recommended to me by someone after my mother died.

Waiting in the wings (very impatiently) is Duma Key by Stephen King -- I just found it in paperback!

What are you reading?

I am reading a book called A Version of the Truth by Jennifer Kaufman and Karen Mack. I like it--it's about a dyslexic woman who lies on her resume to get a job.

I recently read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and LOVED it. All the readers in my family are getting this for Christmas and I've been recommending it to everyone else I can get to listen to me. It's funny and heartbreakingly sad at the same time. It's about the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands during WWII and the aftermath. It's all written in the form of letters. It made me want to start writing letters again. ;)

I recently finished "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy - that was so disturbing and so gripping - I had to keep putting it down and I cried through most of it. Fantastic book.

The I just read "Third Degree" by Greg Iles - very supsenseful and good.

After all that suspense I needed some fluff - so now it's a nice Christmas Nora Roberts book "First Impressions"

I just finished The Seance by Heather Graham...normally don't like this genre (ghosts/other worldly) but Graham wrote a can't putter downer!!

I am now reading The Alexandria Link by Steve Berry at work...pretty good and Brimstone by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child at home which is another one I wouldn't normally read but am enjoying very much!!

I am just about finished Nora Roberts new book, Tribute.

I'm slowly working my way through Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series; I'm on book three of six.

LOVE these books !!:thumbsup2

I enjoy the Sookie Stackhouse books. Are you watching True Blood on HBO?

I'm currently reading Breaking Dawn by S. Meyer and also reading Witch Catcher with my DD.

Life Holidays Picture Puzzles - Can You Spot the Difference?

(i'm in between books this week....)

I just finished the first two Sookie Stackhouse books. I wish I had HBO so I could watch the series, but I don't want to pay for it for just one show.

I am now reading The Book Thief after seeing several recommendations of it here on the DIS. I am really enjoying it!

I just read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I am hoping that my husband brings the next book in the series, New Moon, home to me tonight. A friend was supposed to bring it to him today.

Just finished To The Nines by Janet Evanovich. It's part of the Stephanie Plum series. I didn't think to much of the first two books but by the third, I was hooked.

I am reading this series, too. I am enjoying it a lot.

The Bible. I'm bound and determined to get through the entire book. Lately, I've felt like the only one who hasn't read it, so....

I finished up Duma Key by Stephen King this weekend and Three Bedrooms and a Corpse by Charlaine Harris. I think I read the bedrooms one in a day. Now I am reading her Shakespeare's Landlord. A new character for me and not hooked, but interested enough to want to read them all. I get a lot of reading time when I am trying to coax the nap from the kids. I can read these in 2 days or less, so I will quickly need to find a new author to devour.

I am enjoying the Sookie Stackhouse books also. I'm on book 6 where Sookie goes to New Orleans to meet the Queen and take care of her cousin's apt. My favorite character in the books is Sam. I'm really disappointed with the direction they are taking him in the TV series.

I listened to the first three Twilight books. My Mom bought the 4th one but I just can't seem to bring myself to read it. I thought they were OK books but I really didn't enjoy them as much as many of the others here. I'll still see the movie to see what they did with it. But I never really liked Edward's attitude or Bella's submissiveness.

Walt Disney by Neal Gabler

How is it? I've been wanting to pick it up, but then I get distracted by other books. I'm not a big fan of biographies or just non-fiction in general, but I would like to read about Walt.

I can't believe they've made "The Road" into a movie! It was a good, but disturbing book, just not sure I want to see it visually.

Breezy, my DS is working on Confirmation this year and is studying the Bible, so I have been reading it with my kids each night! Most of my southern friends can recite it backwards and forwards, I'm just trying to read it once!
(Although I know many passages well...) Happy reading! :flower3:

I am currently reading "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. I'm not a huge science fiction kind of gal, but working through it.
