Joe and I are taking it easy, not doing anything. I'm making leg o' lamb, with roasted brussels sprouts and a side of asparagus rizotto for dinner. Then a walk over ot Barnes & Noble (maybe).

It is ding dang cold here!

What a nice post, thanks.

We are having a laid back watch NCAA basketball until our eyes bleed kind of Easter (i am a sports fan for sure but have to alternate sports w/ Dis for balance). A yummy breakfast and a nice dinner for later, just enjoying the day.

Chilly here too near Toronto but at least it's sunny

Happy Easter!

your dinner sounds both gourmand AND Scrumptious!

I am glad to report that I finally got Corey off to the airport and am about to go shower and snap some photos of Mama Jean's yard. No bunnies came to our house this year, but there are lots of squirrels in the yard today.

The husband has the flu, so I came home early with medication and McDonalds to make him feel better. A dose of nighttime Wal-Flu later, and he's taking a nap lol.

Just said goodbye to my DPs Mom and Aunt. Had them for dinner of ham basted with cranberry sauce and pineapple juice, roasted asparagus, gingered carrots, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, cheesy garlic biscuits and greens ('scarole :teeth: ). Dessert was raspberries and whipped cream in chocolate cups along with a four layer chocolate cake frosted with ganache.

Soooo, sensory overload and they've gone off with full bags of goodies.

Today is the fifteenth anniversary of the loss of my DPs g-ddaughter so it was good that we were busy. :sad1:

Hope your husband gets well soon Conckahuna.

Happy Easter everyone.

I am sick, so all I have managed to do today is a few loads of laundry.

DH worked this morning. When he got home he had to make one of those little wooden derby cars for a contest at work. (It makes no sense to any of us, and it took up a good chunk of his day.) He is making pork chops for dinner.

DS got some candy and Disney Dollars in his basket, along with a Wii game he doesn't want.

That's it. We're pretty boring.

Sorry to hear that there are folks having illness interupt their enjoyment of the day. Take care y'all. The photos of Mama Jean's yard are up, if you need something to cheer you up a bit.

Over the river and through the woods to Grandfather's house we go.....:rolleyes1

Two hours later met with Mom and Grandpa and we did a great brunch, went back to my Grandfathers hosue for a visit, and to watch the tortus that lives naturally in his back yard. Gramps is 89 and his yard and house look great! :thumbsup2

After a two hour commute home we hit Applebee's for app's and beer and when we got home I watched Mildred Pierce with a nightcap!

Overall a great Easter!:thumbsup2

I don't celebrate Easter, but it was a nice relaxing day off for me.

I slept most of the day as we had our Spring Equinox Ritual the night before. (I am Wiccan). I napped on the couch, watched a History channel special on the Protestant Reformation, and went to Home Depot to get stuff to plant on my balcony.

We were charged at Spring Equinox with planting a tree and some plants, as well as just getting outside to celebrate and enjoy spring. So that is what I was doing.

I dyed my fingers blue...
It was suppose to go only the eggs but that's how it goes...
I wonder how long till this stuff wears off...

that is such a wonderful idea! ~ can I ask what kind of tree you planted?

Hello all! Just getting a moment after a very hectic Easter weekend to check the Disboards.

How did I spend my Easter? I spent it at the hospital! :scared1:

DP's appendix ruptured on Friday, so after spending two weeks in the Emergency Room on Friday night (okay, I'm exagerating a bit. It wasn't 14 days, it was only 14 hours!) he was finally admitted and had an emergency appendectomy on Saturday. Sunday was all about me emptying the pink pan, as he wasn't able to keep any food down at all. Today, things looked up and he's able to keep down clear liquids, sit up in bed and act like himself, (lordy, I had missed that smile!) and walk to the bathroom to take care of business on his own.

All in all, not a weekend I'd like to repeat, but one that I'm very glad we've both gotten through and with a good recovery in sight.

To make things worse, I had to drop the puppy off at the vet today to spend a couple days with them while he's "fixed" (poor little guy never even knew he was broken). So now I'm all alone in a big empty house with neither the wonderful boyfriend or the cute puppy to wag their tails and tell me they love me. :guilty:

Honestly, it's been a seriously scary couple of days, but I'm so glad that things are finally looking like they're going to be okay and I'm able to breathe for the first time in a few days, and I might actually get a decent night's sleep if I get off the DIS and go to bed.

Thanks for letting me vent a bit here on the boards, I needed it.

To all of you I wish Peace, Love, and Mickey Mouse!

Rob

rpmdfw,

Sorry about your news! At least they caught it in time. Here's hoping the DP and the pup are both home soon!

Daisy, its a regular tortus, about the size of a dinner plate. Has lived in Gramps back yard for years. He/She comes out, eats the grass, suns, and goes back into the hole. Quite interisting to watch. No pics, I'll try to get some next time.

rpmdfw, what a weekend you've put in! I'm sorry to hear about your DP and your poor little Tolliver! I hope they both recover quickly. Take care now and don't forget to take care of yourself during all this!

Oh, I'm fine. A bit overwhelmed, but fine. Thankfully Scott's doing better, and to be honest, as much as I miss Tolliver, between work and the hospital taking up all my waking hours, it really is better for him to be there getting excellent care while he recovers.

Thanks to you and to OrlandoMike for your kind words.
