Hi, all.
Here's my story about Dis-Con I.
I didn't hang out on the Dis-Con Board much before Dis-Con. I wasn't sure about letting myself get close to the people on the board before we met in person. I have had a lot of loss in my life. The only family members that I have left are my husband, my sister, and her husband. We are a very small family. Our family gatherings are definitely small and intimate.
So, I was scared to about getting too close to the people on the board and finding out that we weren't really friends.

When it came time to meet everyone, I was so nervous and scared. Well, we all met for the first time at the Whispering Canyon, and it seemed like seeing old friends again.
Our friendships have become so much more than just "online" friends. I've traveled to people's houses, I chat with someone from The Dis Con Board every day, and I consider them my lifelong buddies. I'm even taking a 2400 mile road trip with Thelma (Barb) in a couple of weeks.
To everyone that hasn't registered yet, but is sitting on the fence between wanting to go and not sure about going, this is all I have to say:
You might be missing out on the chance to meet a lifelong friend or friends.
