I am leaving for Disneyland in 4 days for a 9 day trip and have been waiting for this Christmas trip for 6 months and for some reason it seems like I'm not as excited as I was when we first booked our trip. :confused3 I mean, At first I was bouncing off the walls with excitement and now I'm happy about going but not as happy as I feel I should be. I really and truly feel bad :guilty: that I'm feeling this way because I work with kids and adults that dream of going to Disneyland (especially at Christmas time) but probably never will because they simply just don't have the money and if they do all their money goes to just trying to buy food for their families and provide a warm place to sleep. So I should be very excited. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative that I even get to go on this trip but I feel terrible for feeling this way! I think it's because I keep thinking about what it will be like when we have to come back and get back to dealing with life again and all the streeses it throws your way (school, bills family, money, ect..) Anyone else feel this way? I'm in desperate need of some pixie dust :guilty:
Thank you!!! :)

I usually go through the same thing a few days before we leave, usually when I am stressed about packing and simply the travel. Never fear, once you arrive all your excitment and then some will return, I promise......... :cool1:

I agree. Sometimes I go through a phase of just feeling stressed, guilty about the money or that my kids are too spoiled or something before we leave. If the excitement doesn't revive before you leave, it will the minute you hit the front gates. Have a great trip!

Here is some pixie dust for you!

Trust me, when you get to the gates and hear the music, you will feel completely different, extremely excited and all that feeling will come back again. Before my trip I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Excited, and then a few days before I was the same way, but I think its for a few reasons....

1. Your planning makes you so hyped that your going somewhere and your so close to the trip, and you know its gonna go fast and then it will all be over.

2. Your probably so excited that it doesnt seem real, like OMG IM GOING SO SOON! Your probably in the daze state like HUH! Is this real, or is someon about to jump out and say PUNKED YA!

3. You may also have a ton of things going on last minute to deal with, so your excitement is put on hold for a little while.

I dont doubt for a minute that you will have a good time, and that things will turn out better then expected. Its Disney, and disney is just pure magic. You will walk through the gates, and turn into a child yourself and forget every single worry in the world. Cause thats what happens. Have a wonderful time. :)

Ya know...in my experience what you're going through is really kinda good.

When you get there, and the sights and sounds and magic of DL smack you in the face, it'll come back to you in a rush and you'll be absolutely euphoric. If you're like me, you'll shed a tear.

Have a great time.

Abby, Sunshine,Mystic, and Patti are ALL correct. Anticipation is one thing, reality is another. Come on anticipation. :thumbsup2
I love the planning, and being there. The drive over/back stinks(to be polite) :rolleyes1
(is it 2008 yet?) :hourglass

Hey :thanks: guys that actually really helped!!! The 9 days will go by so fast and I think that's why I feel this way because I don't want it to end!!! Disneyland is truly a magical place.:tink: I just have so much to do from now till next Tuesday when we leave. do the :laundy: clean the house you know.... all the junk that I don't want to do after getting home from work and school at night. plus having to get up at 1:30am the morning we leave to get ready so we can be at the airport by 4:40am so we can also park our car there. So I'm a little stressed and going a little crazy! So thank you everyone I really appreciate it very much!!!!! :sunny:

I think you are going through everything that we all do. I am really starting to believe that the most exciting part is planning the trip and the anticipation of the day to leave then the closer it gets me start to panic on paking, is the flight going to be just right. I know I stresss about making PS seating, all the crowds and will i enjoy myself...I am hoping I am wrong on all counts. Go have fun and let us know how it was, have a FUNtastic time :santa:

For those of us in cold climates, I think there's also a concern that the weather will cooperate on the days that we have to fly or drive. I agree with the other posters who said that we have so much to do before we leave on vacation that it kind of squashes the excitement temporarily. To the OP: try to break down those housecleaning tasks into small ones that can be accomplished within your remaining time. I hate cleaning the house, and I try to do this, since it seems less overwhelming that way. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

I agree with a lot of posters here. When you first arrange the trip, it's exciting because you're thinking about the end result - being at DL! But once you get closer to the trip, you have to deal with reality of what it takes to get there. But once you pull in to that parking lot or see the Matterhorn from miles away, it will all rush back to you and you'll be excited again. This happened to me this past March. We went to DL for a week and I was stoked planning it for 6 months but stressed crazy the week before. But I saw the Matterhorn and started screaming and demanding my cousin drive faster to get us there! :teeth: pirate:
