WE are thinking of a cruise for our 25th wedding anniv. in 2006...but we have 6 children!! How many rooms would we need??? Ages will be DD's 20,18, & 8...DS's 16,13, & 11...our anniv. is actually 2 days AFTER Christmas...but with achool schedules we are thinking of doing the cruise in Aug. before we head all the kids back to schools. What options do we have?? Thanks!

If you are trying to save money, two connecting CAT-10's might be the cheapest if you are on a budget. Those would sleep at least 8 (the number in your party). Cost if booked now - about $7000 for the 7 night (note how many would be charged as adults [At least 6 of you would be 13 years old and older]). There is a special sailing August 19th, 2006 - Western Caribbean Sailing - Disney Magic® (Special Itinerary - Castaway Cay, Costa Maya, Cozumel & Castaway Cay). Since you have adult children, and you don't "need" connecting cabins, you could try CAT-11 and save about $80 per cabin for that sailing.

P.S. - Your older children might enjoy another line too, like RCCL, Carnival, or Princess. It would certainly be less expensive and more catering to their ages. By then too, the Ultra-Voyager (Freedom of the Seas) will be sailing!

We cruised with nine children and my brother in Sept. We got four cat. 10 rooms. Two rooms connected and two were down the hall. With that many kids needless to say we loved the split bathrooms!

I'd also recommend booking two, connecting category 10 (Deluxe Inside) staterooms. Book early to get connecting staterooms assigned, though.

I think it really depends on how much privacy the parents want and what your budget is. Two rooms will be cheaper than 3 but you might like to have a room for the girls, a room for the boys and a room for the parents.

If you have to go with two, I think the connecting cat 10's would be your cheapest good choice since the 10's have the split bath. Adjoining category 11's would be a little cheaper but the bathroom situation will probably make the 10's a better choice.

Have fun planning what ever you choose.

Another option would be what we chose to do. We have a cat. 8 with a cat. 11 across the hall for the kids. That way we get the oceanview and the kids get the dark that they want. You could have the younger two sleep with you and your husband with the rest of them across the hall. Just a thought...

Since you will be paying for 6 adults, I would get 2 rooms for the kids and one for you and your spouse, it is your 25th Anniv. after all.
