Hello Disers!

It's 2016 which means I can finally start planning our next trip! :yay:

We have been to Disney two other times and here is where we have eaten. Where would you recommend next? We are going in December so if there are any restaurants that are especially beautiful that time of year I would love to hear about it.

Cinderella's Castle
Be Our Guest
Crystal Palace
Akershus
Coral Reef
Garden Grill
Chef Mickeys
Whispering Canyon
Jiko
Ohana
Hoop De Doo Musical Review
Tusker House
Hollywood and Vine (Disney Jr characters)

DD is 8 now so she doesn't particularly care if we see princesses anymore

TIA!

I would eat a meal at one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian. It's exquisite at Christmas. Choose from:
1900 Park Fare
Grand Floridian Cafe
Citricos (signature)
Narcoossees (signature)

I'd also explore more Epcot World Showcase restaurants. Some of our favorites are:
Restaurant Marrakesh
Via Napoli
Monsieur Paul (signature)

We were also pleasantly surprised by Fulton's Crab House at Disney Springs, and I've heard great things about The Boathouse too.

I personally avoid all restaurants at DHS like the plague. Even Sci Fi isn't what it used to be, but if you have to eat at DHS, it's probably your best option.

Second 1900 PF... we did the breakfast there, it was awesome!

I am a HUGE fan of Sci-Fi at DHS too...

An odd, out of the way choice is the Garden Grove inside the Swan/Dolphin, (I forget which)... good food, we liked it alot!

Definitely work some more signatures into your plan if you can. You've already hit our favorite (Jiko) but we also love Flying Fish or Narcoossee's for seafood. Wilderness Lodge is especially beautiful during the holidays so Artist Point would be a good pick too.

On the regular table service side of things Via Napoli and Sanaa are our favorites. We absolutely love the Via Napoli pizza and Sanaa has some of the best food on property in the most beautiful of locations (hello Savannah views).

As others have suggested SciFi or 50s prime time are also a ton of fun and beat the lackluster counter service options at MGM. Beaches and cream and The Plaza are also fun, casual spots.

50's Prime Time is a must for us every trip, and 1900 Park Fare (dinner) was the single best character experience we've ever had. The step sisters are absolutely hilarious!

Via Napoli in Epcot is my favorite restaurant on property. I'm not a pizza fan at all but I could eat their pizza every day! Lol. They have many other Italian dishes too that I've heard good reviews on but all I have gotten there is pizza.

Yak & Yeti inside Animal Kingdom is one of my new favorites. And one of the best dinners we had last trip. Great food!

I definitely second the idea of getting some time in at the Grand, it's over the top at Christmas! Animal Kingdom Lodge was also really gorgeously decorated and if you liked Jiko you would probably like Sanaa. It's over at Kidani but the walk between the two is pretty easy, definitely go for lunch so you can enjoy all the safari animals!

If you want a more signature like meal try Bluezoo at the dolphin, the second best meal I've had on property (besides Victoria & Albert's) but cheaper than all the other signatures. Plus you can walk around the Epcot resorts which have some great holiday displays (carousel at Beach club, trains at Yacht club, and I'm pretty sure Boardwalk has a nice set up inside too).

As far as decked out for the holidays, when we were there last week there weren't too many places decorated much inside. However, any quick service you could eat outside in the parks would give you great holiday people watching time!

Most restaurants weren't decorated but we planned meals in the resorts that were. Definitely something at the Grand and Wilderness Lodge is also amazing during the holidays. The Contemporary has a big gingerbread display. I've heard BW/BC have displays too but we didn't get over there.

We enjoy the music at Biergarten too. Maybe one of the Epcot restaurants where you can view Illuminations? Spice Road Table, La Hacienda de San Angel, Rose & Crown.

Some of our faves that you don't have on there:

Via Napoli
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
California Grill
Beaches & Cream
Sci Fi (stick to simple stuff, atmosphere is really cool)
50's Prime Time Cafe

Sci Fi - a new favorite for us - good food, shakes for drinks, awesome desserts, and fun atmosphere

Biergarten - fun atmosphere, buffet with different choices

I second Minnie's Holiday Dine! Excellent food and character interaction! And everyone was dressed in their holiday finery! (I couldn't get over Daisy's shoes!)
We also (on another night at HS) had a surprisingly excellent meal at Mama Melrose! When I said this on the board a lot of Disers chimed in to say they were surprised I was surprised. Guess a lot of folks have had great meals there!
I see you have been to BOG... They had the interior decorated beautifully for dinner at Christmas. The tree was in front of windows where snow was falling. It was lovely.
It will be interesting to see other board members recommendations...
Fun is a lot of in the planning, oui?

Hoop Dee Doo is great fun and for sure something to try some day. It's a bit out of the way but worth the time to get over to it. Just a boat ride from the magic kingdom.

Ohana is one my family favorite places. My kids are teens now and love Ohana. Great food but it's not so engaging for the little ones.

Sci Fi is great for the family and right in the park for easy access.

Whispering Canyon can be fun with a little one. They have a bit of entertantment during dinner with the servers. If you have a good cast member they really can make the meal a good time for kids.

As stated prior most resturant are not decorated inside to much but the hotel lobby will be.
