I'm starting to look at buying a Cricut. I'm not a frequent scrapper (2 toddlers are eating my brain!), and am not sure how much I'd be able to use it. But they just seem so darn handy!

Looking on eBay it seems that there might be some good deals out there. What should I be looking for? Any tips will be greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

AC Moore has a new machine on sale this week for $139 which they seem to have once a month or so. That is a good starting point

Check out the Yahoo Group, cricutcutter. Several of the ladies on there are selling their baby bugs since they purchased or are saving for the Expression. I've seen some good deals.

Good luck!

be real careful about ebay...i know you can get plenty of things out there for good prices...but after my recent experience, i'm nervous to ever do it again. My dh bought me the cricut script (a machine only sold on QVC that has the writing function) a month ago. He bought it on ebay for considerably less that what the machine is at QVC. The guy he bought from took the cuttin up cart out and has been selling them seperate from the machine (cuttin is exclusive to that one machine) That aside, the machine was used. the cutting mat was used , the machine was used. the manual was all bent up. We sent it back in hopes that he would send us a new machine (as the add on ebay specified a NEW machine) Well the second one it got (yesterday, actually) is used also and after numerous emails with this guy we are going to get our money back and he can send ups to pick it up. He has had another - feedback from another person about the same machine with the same issues. I just went and bought the expression, because that is what i wanted in the first place. talk about frustrating. All i'm saying is do your research on the seller also...check out how the comment to other people as well as what other people say about them.

good luck!

Kristi

Oooooo! Thanks for the warning. That would just burn me up! That's always my biggest fear about eBay.

This is probably a freak thing, but DH and I went to one of our local Walmarts, and they are in the process of remodeling the store. They had almost the whole store on clearance. I had been looking at the CriCut, by hadn't really made up my mind about it. You know, it's something I might like to have, but not something that I need. I have several sizzix fonts that I use. Anyway, we were walking thru the craft section and they had the machine on clearance for $100. AND they had the Mickey Friends and the Mickey Font cartridges for $35. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!

Good Luck

I picked up the Christmas cart for $40 at my wal-mart. The machine was still $158 or so, but all the carts were $40. Mats and blades were both $7.98
