I am curious, since we are the fans the didn't listen to, lets talk about idea we wish we saw in the program, what did you wish you got to be in it?

One of the things I would of like to see, is a special discount for us fans who go back time and time again.

These are examples of what I would love to see, not so much "for real" on the details, just along the lines of something that benefits to frequent visitor/fan that drops load of money each year. You know like the stores have, spend so much and they stamp a card, after the 10th stamp you get a discount or something free...

example:

-if you stayed on property 5 times in 5 years, you get 20% off your resort
- if you stayed on property 10 times in 5 years, you get 40% off your resort
- if you are an annual passholder for 5 consecutive years, you get 30% off your 6th year pass

I am NOT getting into gritty details, like what if ... just a blanket type idea

now add yours :thumbsup2 what did you want to see, if Disney asked you the fan

When you stay on property, and use your key/ticket to make purchases, they should give digital Disney dollars per hundred dollars spent.
These dollars could be spent at any Disney store land based or online (not in parks). This would reward and drive revenue to other Disney businesses.

just a first thought :confused3

I would like to see a D23 lounge in MK at WDW and in MK at DL. Something like this would offer hors d'oeuvres, plush seating, awesome Disney archive decor, etc. It would also offer a place where D23 members could meet up and form Disney fan relationships and talk all things Disney!

I would allow D23 members to get Disney movies on DVD and Blu Ray a full week before other people.

I would allow points to accumulate after a decent number of visits per year to get you days free in hotels (notice how this still encourages increased revenue streaming, Disney accountants!)

Numerous exclusive merchandising options that are affordable (and by affordable I mean Disney affordable haha not real world affordable)

Maybe have their website set up with a Facebook like social community

1/2 off prices for the D23 expo not just 7 bucks off.

I am sure we can come up with a lot of stuff that doesnt really cost Disney a fortune but at the same time rewards customers and gets them to go to WDW or buy Disney merchandise

great ideas! I also think some sort of way of trading within the community too.

You know, a lot of what we want is offered right here on the DIS!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We need Pete to be CEO of Disney!! Imagine what that would do for us fan!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :banana: :woohoo: problem solved!

I'd like an AFFORDABLE magazine again ... similar to what Disney News/Disney Magazine was.

I read the magazine once and put it away on the shelf. I don't need it to be on high gloss thick paper stock.

I'd love to see some of the perks I have with other loyalty programs (hotel/airline/car rental etc.), such as:

- automatic room upgrades upon check-in if space is available
- priority check-in lines
- in-room gift upon arrival
- ability to earn free/discounted stays or other perks (meal credits, tours, etc.)
- automatic upgrade to next level at lower level price when booking

The automatic upgrade when booking could mean getting a water view room for a standard view price, or it could be a moderate room for the value room price.

Any of these could be tied into the number of times you visit or nights that you stay. (For example, the in-room gift on my first stay at one hotel chain was a few pieces of fruit and a bottle of water. After several stays, I received a large fruit and cheese basket along with a bottle of wine.)

I am also hoping that there are tours that are exclusively for the D23 members (like they have now for club level and/or AKL guests).

I'd love to see a unlimited Fast Pass to any ride for one day given to members who reach a certain level. Like after staying in the resorts 5 times.

Simple...

Re-open Adventurers Club as "Club 23" - Members Only!!! :goodvibes

Man are you right on with that one...I would love to get back in there for another Kungaloosh and possibly the HOOPLA!!!....

And you have to show your membership card to get your....GIN AND TONIC!!!!:laughing:

Ok, I went to Barnes & Noble this morning and picked up the D23 magazine. I must say, it is VERY nice. I would even say impressive. I love the cover. I have not read it yet, but I flipped through and the articles look good and the photography is very good. I will say I was suprised how thin it is. It could use a few more pages. I had to laugh when I checked out...the clerk was SHOCKED when she scanned it and it came up $15.95, she just looked at me and I said "Yeah, I know, pricey." I know she thought I was crazy. :laughing:

Soooooooooooooo, so far, I'm liking the magazine, so if I were designing D23, I'd keep the magazine in it, but I'd add a few more articles/pages.

After that....I think a point reward system would be very nice. I belong to one at a local gas station and I have to say it does make me use that station more knowing I can get points. They offer a pretty big variety of things that you can buy with you points and some are really nice. I usually use my points for gift cards and I'd love it if Disney did this. You could accumulate points not only for trips to Disney but by buying at the Disney Store or Disney shopping, buying Disney movies or even other Disney merchadise made by Disney, like toys, ect...give people something to get excited about! Have a great "points" catalog of what you can "buy" with your points, offer everything from DVD's, gift cards, merchadise, to travel upgrades, discounts, ect...the possibilities are endless and could appeal to all kinds of Disney fans, not just the ones that go to the parks often.

That would be cool. I also agree with a rewrds program, and perhaps some perks involving the parks, ADR's and things along those lines. I was expecting something like that. Anyhow as I said that is a cool idea for the Club 23!

Discounts on rooms and on shopping - Disney wide... not just in certain places... points rewards... magazine (and not for $16 an issue... that's just nuts...) Chance to buy limited edit. collectibles, newsletter...

Gee...that all sounds SO familiar...

BRING BACK THE OLD MAGIC KINGDOM CLUB!!!!

I will say this...people seem to be talking a lot about discounts on hotels etc but for $75 dollars what do you expect? Even in just one trip a modest 10% off would easily exceed the cost of membership.

Honestly, you are right, 10% off a trip is alot and I wouldn't expect that, but it would be nice to receive something, it doesn't have to be a percentage off a trip, Disney is excellent at marketing, I'm sure they could figure something out. They reward people for buying their DVD's...why not something for people who visit their parks? Maybe something off the ticket price, maybe a percentage off for shops or restaurants, special event tickets. Something to make people feel appreciated for their continued business and loyalty. There are many possibilities. And really, there are alot of places that have loyalty programs that are free. I go to Max & Erma's quite a bit and belong to their free program, I don't get a free dinner, but after I go so many times (I can't remember the number) I get 5% off, if I go more, then it bumps to 10% off and every once in awhile they send me a coupon for a free dessert or appetizer. It's not much, but it makes me feel that they appreciate my business.

Magic Kingdom Club used to cost $65 for 2 years...

This is what you used to get from it... (this was back in 1998)

The Magic Kingdom Club (MKC) is a Disney sponsored program that can save you money. There are various MKC membership benefits available at Walt Disney World, Disneyland in California, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris (check with each resort individually for more details).

There are 2 types of MKC membership available, though it's probable that only one is available to UK residents. Large companies with over 500 employees can participate in Disney's MKC program, which generally provides a "free" membership card to it's employees. It's very unlikely that this corporate membership option is abailable to anyone in the UK unless working for a U.S. based organisation that participates in the program.

The second alternative is where you can join the MKC program yourself and receive a "Gold Card". At present this costs $65 for 2 years for U.S. residents, and slightly more for overseas residents due to the additional costs of shipping the printed material.

In addition to the regular benefits of MKC membership, you receive a toll free number to call for reservations (U.S. only I'm afraid) as well as a small tote bag, a free video and luggage tag. Gold Card members also receive a quarterly newsletter and the Disney Magazine.

NOTE: that Disney stockholders are able to purchase the Gold Card at a slightly reduced rate. Call the shareholders office for details.

* Between 10% and 20% discount during specified periods on selected Walt Disney World Resort hotel accomodations.
* Accomodations - Nighly discount at selected WDW Village hotels, Dolphin and Swan.
* Reduced prices on selected ticket options at the MGM-Studios, Magic Kingdom and Epcot Disney Theme Parks, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, River Country, and Discovery Island. (Call Disney for details)
* Savings at the Disney Instutute (Call 1-800-496-6337 and ask about MKC benefits).
* Savings on the price of vacations on the Disney Cruise Line if booked before June 1, 1998.
* 10% discount on merchandise at Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island and Character Connection at Crossroads, although some restrictions apply.
* 10% off meals at selected theme park and resort restaurants.
* Save on the purchase of a Magic Kingdom Club Classic badge and more at Disney's Golf Courses.
* 10% discount off regular price of the riding or driving programs at the Richard Petty Driving Experience .
* 10% discount on all purchases at The Disney Store
* 10% discount on all purchases made from The Disney Catalog
* 10% discount on Disney's Walk Around The World Bricks (excludes the 25th anniversary granite bricks)
* Save up to 30% on published counter rates with National Rental Car (U.S. Only)
* 10% discount on all merchandise bought at the Festival Disney area of Disneyland Paris.
* 10% discount on all merchandise bought within the Disneyland Paris theme park.

It is also valid at the following restaurants within Walt Disney World:

* The Plaza (MK)
* Tony's Town Square (MK)
* Liberty Tree (MK)
* Garden Grill (Epcot)
* Le Cellier (Epcot)
* Restaurant Marrakesh (Epcot)
* Prime Time Cafe (dinner only) (MGM)
* Mama Melrose's (MGM)
* Brown Derby (MGM)
* Hollywood & VIne (MGM)
* Tusker House (AK)
* Flame Tree Barbecue (AK)
* Restaurantosaurus (AK)

Those kind of discounts a much easier to do when the economy and the company are doing well. They would probably lose a lot of money that they don't have if they did something that extreme and have to lay off more people. I'd rather pay more than have to see them lay more people off.

They always had a loyalty program before... They just took things away over the years - especially when they were doing very good.

Now they have to offer the deep discounts just to keep us coming...
