What would you improve Disney

Can you imagine how hostile the already hostile people would get if people were cutting in to the front of the line. It is bad enough with the fast pass system that people don't understand, front of the line passes would be worse!

People seem to understand it at Universal IOA. I don't think they are any smarter over there then they are at disney.

Ah! How would *I* improve Disney?? How i have dreamed of this....

1) The resorts. Make the rooms bigger, and all able to handle at least 5 people. Make them more affordable. Only at Disney will people pay $400+ dollars a night to stay at a 30 year old hotel with tiny 4-person rooms. Bring back the all-classic-Disney-cartoons-all-the- time channel on the Tv's.

2) Expand the monorails. Each hotel and park should have a monorail line. Make it Spoke-and-Hub; each hotel line runs to the TTC, where you can catch a park monorail.

3) Develop a "Yesterland" park. Never again will a ride or attraction be closed. Instead it will be relocated to Yesterland, where "old school" fans can go to enjoy their favorites. Rebuild Horizons, World of Motion, Mr Toad, Mine Train to Nature's Wonderland, and all the old favorites. Rebuild the native American village, re-install the canoes and keelboats, etc.

4) Food. Designate "no kids" dining options for people who don't care to dine with my children. Make the menus at table service establishments more varied and less "cookie cutter". Install more seating at counter service eateries. Fix the Disney Dining Plan; bring back the included tip, and allow me to choose dessert OR an appetizer.

5) At least one new country in World Showcase. Redevelop the empty spaces at Epcot such as the Wonders of Life pavillion.

6) More dark rides, more educational rides/attractions, less thrill rides. NO more carnival-style rides... no more whirl/twirl/hurl 30 second wastes of time.

7) Bring back Tapestry of Nations.

8) Find some way to allow for evening hours at Animal Kingdom.

9) Finish Pop Century.

10) De-Pixar-ize the parks. Nemo was a decent movie, but must it be EVERYWHERE!?! And stop revamping things JUST to make a Pixar presence... enough allready!

11) Finally - and this is not parks, but Disney just the same - Gut, revamp, and fix the Disney channel. Teenybopper programs are fine for the after-school hours, but not all bloody day. I should be able to find classic Disney programming at least half of my viewing hours and NOT in the middle of the night either. Bring back Mouse Tracks, Quack Attack, Wonderful World of Disney, and the original Mickey Mouse club. Commit to the idea of running classic Disney animated movies and/or classic live action (Hailey Mills, etc) Disney movies at least once a day. Remove all non-Disney programming (Boy Meets World, for pete's sake?!?).

There. Now I shall go plot the downfall of several small island nations... *evil laugh* :smokin:

Too much to think of right now. Might get back to this later.

Make front of the line passes for purchase like they have at other parks. I would glady pay extra for them.

AMEN!! I actually stopped going to Disney because of the lines. I would much rather stay onsite Universal and get the Express pass.

O kay here are mine!

A pirate (or boy themed) character breakfast! I don't even have boys I have two girls but there are only so many princess meals you can do before it gets way old. I personally think A Jack Sparrow meal would draw huge crowds! Maybe at the Caribbean beach resort:confused3

Absolutely! My family would be all over that. Then again, we're the ones who included Jack Sparrow in our family's holiday card.

I would bring back Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Better yet, I would ditch Winnie the Pooh and put Mr. Toad right back in his rightful home.

I'd add another country to World Showcase.

I'd finish the Germany pavilion and put in the Rhine river ride that was supposed to be there.

I'd bring back 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Bring back Tapestry of Nations.

Find ways to make the whole Disney experience more affordable for families.

Fun!

- Expand the monorail system
- Save some tables (say 15%) at each TS for walk ups (or maybe at least until a week or two from the actual date)
- Do some serious, ongoing training for the CMs working the "concierge" section in the lobby check-in
- Get rid of the Million Dreams and move on!

I TOTALLY agree about the coffee--why, why, why can't they get something besides instant coffee?????

Value and moderate resorts for families of 5 or more. It costs almost double for a family of five to go to Disney vs a family of 4.

Universal has done this for years and it works wonderfully... WITH the exception of Dudley DoRight and Dueling Dragons, the express line people are sent to another area and not "spit on" or "hit" or "taunted" like people are in the stupid fastpass lines in Disney.

One of my all time favorites was "Aunt Polly's" out on Tom Sawyers Island  I don't even find the attraction all that special now that it's gone and stupid vending machines have taken her place.

We used to head out there mid-morning for some ice cream or an early lunch to get away from the crowds just about the time the kids were starting to need it...I would definitely open this back up it I could!:cool1:

TOTALLY agree with the poster who recommending adding non-reservation seats at the TS restaurants. The last three visits we have tried to eat at San Angel Inn, in Mexico only to be denied every time.

They should of course charge enough for it so that the folks who want it pay what it is worth. That would control to what extent it becomes as popular as FastPass. And it would offer a better level of service, i.e., the ability to go to the front of most any queue, on demand, instead of on a schedule. That would be something I'd like very very much. :thumbsup2

Rich people have enough advantages in life, it would be completely rude to anyone waiting in line for an hour to watch someone buy their way in front of you...

If buying your way up front was allowed then it would be Disney allowing the "poor" folks to be walked all over... Too much like the real world, which is what we try to leave behind when going to disney.

I have to agree with this post. I would not go to WDW with this system in place and I think the Disney people realize this. Alot of time our only saving grace is the fast pass system. Can you imagine a normal family who did not pay the extra to skip ahead going say Easter or Christmas week. It's likely they would not be quick to return. I think Disney knows it would be a disaster or they would have probably implemented it by now seeing how they are so eager to make a buck!;)

Disney ALREADY does it. If you stay in one of their (more expensive than offsite!) hotels, you get the EMHs. And they don't even give non-hotel guests the option of buying their way in to EMH.

Universal gives their guests the FOTL thing. But they also allow non-guests to buy a limited version of it.

And nobody who is vacationing in Orlando should be crying that they're poor. Poor means that a Disney vacation is just a dream that you hide away in a drawer and take out to look at once in a blue moon. Staying in a value resort or - gasp! - offsite doesn't make you poor.

Nothing should be permanently closed. Like the food counter on tom sawyers island. Was it called aunt polly's? If it is not economicable to run then hide it with foliage, or make ti look like someones front porch or something. Just not a closed building.

It reminds me of the mall in the Reading PA thread.

When I was a kid, we were POOR. We didn't go on vacation! We certainly couldn't have afforded WDW as it's priced now.

But if a family has to save (and wait) five years between visits then someone comes along and buys their way in front... not a good feeling.

When I was a kid we were DIRT poor, but we would eat potted meat sandwiches, have no cable, etc in order to go to WDW. Just because we scrimped and saved to go once a year, didn't mean we weren't poor.

But EMHs - where you aren't even allowed to enter the park with the others - are okie dokey?

I don't get why people are just peachy with not being allowed to enter the park with the Disney guests, but are going to whine and complain if those same people get a fastpass they don't get. I'd think it would be MORE upsetting to be told, "You can't come in now. That's just for the people who paid to stay here."

If you have to save for five years but will be all kinds of jealous and pissed off that other people can get a Disney version of the ExpressPass and you can't, then save a few more months and buy them for yourself.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree because I believe the exact opposite of everything in this post. Oh well, different strokes :cool2:

I'm not rich by any means (single parent) and I use Express passes at Universal regularly. Why? Because it's a priority to me.

Some people think DVC or staying concierge at the Poly is a priority. I find that elitist. Not being able to stand for 2 hours on line is not elitist, for me it's health oriented.

I don't know if it would work at Disney considering their crowds. It works magically for me at Universal, and I hope it never changes.

I am going to just give the top few that popped into my head right away.

1. BRING BACK EXTENDED "THE DISNEY WAY" CM training!!!
It used to be 3 days, now it's like 3 hours.

2. Stop homoginizing souvenirs. I hate the Disney World/Disneyland combined souvies and I hate the way every gift shop seems to have all the same stuff.
I used to love finding different things in each park that are specific to that park.

3. Bring back the Character Bus at World Showcase.

4. Bring Tapestry Parade back to Epcot.

5. Get Lucky the Dinosaur out of storage! Have him travel the parks again or least put out somewhere permanently.

6. Stop taking away perks for things like Annual passes, DDP, ect...

7. Stop being so cocky ...
"We're Disney, people will always come no matter what we do or what we charge."
