What would you have served me?

Say you were working at an ice cream parlor. I came through the drive through and ordered a strawberry sundae. Suppose you asked, "Do you want strawberry ice cream?" and I replied, "No, just vanilla ice cream with strawberries on top." What would you have served me?

Would you give me a scoop of vanilla topped with a scoop of strawberry ice cream? Because that's what I got tonight. I thought that the concept of a sundae was pretty easy, especially since the person who took my order was supposedly trained to serve ice cream. But she thoroughly messed it up.

The worse part is that I never ended up getting what I ordered. We had ordered 3 things, and all of them were wrong to some extent. She handed us the sundae last, and I had just had it. I hadn't said anything about the other things we ordered because they were close enough, but this just ticked me off. So I started complaining to the server, and DH said that I got too mean, and since we had already paid, he just drove off before I could say anything I would regret later.

It's not a big deal in the greater scheme of things, but it happened a few hours ago, and I still can't get over it. I just don't understand how someone can mess up a sundae like that.

Come to Mississippi, or at least where I live, they mess up EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING!

What is so hard about a burger with mustard, pickles, Ketchup and cheese ONLY! Does that sound complicated to you? 8 out of 10 times they get it wrong.

We stopped complaining, it doesn't do any good here. You just keep taking it back until they get it right.

Well, I know that when they make a chocolate shake up here, its vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, while in a lot of places down south it's chocolate ice cream. But I never came across a sundae being ice cream topped with ice cream in any part of the country. Don't know if I'd complain about it, though.

I can see what you mean. It wouldn't bother me though -- I like both vanilla and strawberry ice cream. But I would think that one would normally be served vanilla ice cream with strawberry topping. Oh, and don't forget about the dab of whipped cream, hmm, yum!!

Yes, it's on the menu. Part of the problem, which I didn't mention before, is that I ordered a kid's strawberry sundae. It's like a regular sundae, but smaller, and I'm not sure if it has whipped cream. It's also on the menu, and I've ordered it before. The scoops at this place are huge, and the kid's sundae is actually smaller and cheaper than a regular scoop, so that's what I get for DS. But the girl taking my order insisted that there's no such thing as a kid's sundae, so since she didn't know what a kid's sundae was, I guess she just decided to invent her own new thing.

That's pretty disturbing that she didn't even know how to make things straight off the menu. She had to have been new! Very new. Like born yesterday.
