So here's my dilemma...I am working on my FP choices now...I know I know I am massively over planning things, lol...But I like to plan things out and play with ideas a bit until I am happy with my choices and I will do this for the next 4 months until FP window opens up, lol. Anyways I am hoping to get a pre park opening ADR for Tusker House so I was hoping to not have to use a FP for the Safari since Tusker House is right there...we can eat and then jump on line for the safari. Then I would probably get a FP for Festival of the Lion King. Arg there needs to be more FP attractions for little kids to go on at Animal Kingdom then I would not be having this problem. Or should I scrap the FP for FOTLK (bc I honestly think thats a waste of a FP) and do the night time safari and get a FP for then. We could always still do the day time safari as well and just compare notes on the 2, lol. Ugh what would you do?

We did the prepark opening ADR at Tusker House in April, it was awesome! We were the first ones in line at the Safari for the day. It was great. We also had a Fast Pass for the safari later in the day, which I would definitely do again. The safari is always different. I felt that the Lion King & Nemo were wastes of FP. If anyone in your party wants to do Everest, do that. If not, maybe the meet and greet with Mickey?

Yeah my prob is I have DS10 who is now all in for Animal Kingdom bc he can do everything there now lol. Then I have my DS3 who can barely do anything there lol. I am trying to figure out things for my DS3 to do FP wise while my DS10 does all this big rides. I know the whole family will want to see FOTLK (but this just seems like a waste of a FP). I gonna try for an Everest FP for me and my DS10 (the rest of my family doesn't want to ride Everest). I thought while my DS10 and I ride Everest I could do a FP for the rest of my fam for the nemo show. My DS3 loves nemo. That way it keeps them busy while we ride Everest. We will also have a DAS for my DS10 so planning on getting a return time for Everest before we get on the ride that way he can ride it again if he wants to. Then we are planning a FP for my DS10 and my hubby to ride Dinosaur while I take my DS3 to meet Mickey and Minnie. It's just this last FP that we are having trouble deciding on. I think maybe we will do the safari twice bc now they have that night time safari so it might be different at night...we can always use my sons DAS for FOTLK if we need to

I would. I know what you mean though. I'm traveling with 3 other adults and 2 children under 3. So, I've got to figure out how to make the Fastpasses so that everyone is happy. ;) We have some thrill seekers in the group so I have to balance that with kiddie rides.

OP here is what I would do. Don't FP+ either Safari or FOTLK. As you said do the Safari right after breakfast, and you should only wait 10 min max. Don't waste an FP+ on FOTLK. What I would do is just FP+ Everest for all, but you can switch magic bands so your older kid can get a free second ride on everest.

Thats what we always do in my family, my dad cannot ride a lot of the thrill rides because he has back problems, so I always use his FP+ for a second ride.

Thanks for the input but I was planning for my 3 family members that don't want to ride Everest to see Nemo the same time we are riding Everest. My older son will have a DAS so I am planning on getting a return time for for Everest before we hop in the FP lane, that way by the time we finish riding it, hopefully we will be able to just jump back on it again. I have pretty much figured out my FPs for AK, but this last FP needs to be something the whole family can do together so my options are pretty limited. I know my little guy would LOVE the safari, and I know he would love being able to ride the safari twice, bc he loves giraffes...but my older son is kind of past that age and doesn't really like that type of stuff anymore. I can probably get him on the safari once, but I don't know if he will want to ride the safari again. On the other hand using a FP for FOTLK just seems like such a waste, lol...I mean its a show and I don't really want to be tied down to a certain show time...if we get to the show and they seem more crowded than usual I can always use my sons DAS pass to FP the next show time.

Hmm you can't do a split between Everest and Nemo? Also do you plan on riding Primeval Whirl or Kali River Rapids? Those might be the ones you already have planned, but if not, you can use FP+ for one of those. Both are technically good choices especially Kali River Rapids.

Primeval Whirl my little guy is too small for and my older son watched a you tube video of it and he was like "no thank you" LOL, he doesn't like that its basically a spinning roller coaster, lol. Kali River Rapids I didn't even think of bc I am not sure if my little guy will meet the height requirements for it. I know we took my older son on it when he was 4...I honestly didn't know anything about the ride and didn't know it had a huge hill at the end, lol...my older son was scared to death when we got off and I felt SOOOOO BAD! LOL we haven't been on the ride since, I guess we were all scarred that day lol

I think Kali will be fine. The height requirement is 38 inches I think. OMG your older son is scared of PW? Thats like a wild mouse compared to Everest. The only scary part is the jerky part. Its nothing compared to Everest. Anyway if worse comes to worse I'd do the FP+ for FOTLK over the Safari if you plan on riding Safari after breakfast, because at least it wastes an FP+, and it will mean that you can be at the show only 5 min prior to when it starts rather than 30 min.

Ok thanks! I don't know, he might change his mind about PW when we get there, lol...he seems to do that A LOT, and he's never ridden Everest, but he has something to prove with riding Everest, lol. When we were at Disney in 2015 I didn't plan to visit AK, bc theres not much there for my kids to do. Anyways while we were at MK one of the CMs was talking to my son about the rides he had been on so far and they started talking and the CM said he HAD to ride Everest bc it was seriously the best coaster on Disney property...well then thats all I heard for the rest of the trip was why we weren't going to AK and how was he ever going to ride Everest and blah blah blah, lol. Now that we are planning this trip he's like now don't forget we ARE GOING to AK, lol, and I am GOING to ride Everest! Lucky me I drew the straw that gets to take him on it, lol, while the rest of my family gets to go watch Nemo, lol. I think after he rides Everest he's going to be feeling confident and once he sees PW in person and not on a video he might change his mind. He is definitely the thrill seeker of the family, lol

I hope he does. And I must say I agree, Everest is the best coaster on Disney property. It really is thrilling, and parts of it can be quite scary.

Honestly, the night safari doesn't draw a line. I think I waited 15 minutes when I was there over the summer. A lot of the attractions don't seem to have a line at least when I was there. I walked onto Everest, the Rapids, and saw Festival of the Lion King (my favorite Disney Theme Park Show) about 2 times that day. If you want to do something the whole family can enjoy, I wouldn't book a fastpass for the evening safari, because then you wouldn't be able to get anymore that day. You can always find a fastpass during the day for the safari at night as well (if available). The fastpass for Festival of the Lion King will guarantee you a seat, and will put you in the lion or elephant section which are my favorite areas to watch the show. Personally, i would go ahead and book FOTLK for the entire family to enjoy. I also want you to know that try and plan your Everest fastpass while everyone is at Nemo for a good time so you are not waiting around for the show to get over. Or, book it soon enough and see if you can get in the standby for the show. You have several options here. I hope I helped.

Thanks! You answered 1 of the questions that i have been wondering...which was if i did book the FOTLK FP where would we be seated. I tried to find like a seating map, but had no such luck lol. We also will have someone in a scooter. Does that change the section of where we would be seated?

No. You would be placed in like the first four rows (I think there are four) which are on the floor. If those are already taken. You would be moved to the warthog or giraffe section I believe. Also, don't quote me on this, because I'm only going based on what I have seen since my family doesn't use a scooter/wheelchair. The CM could potentially ask if your family member in the scooter is able to walk and they might park it somewhere. I have also seen that done.
