So, we're sitting at the vets, me-my ds13 and my ddog 12. She's a weimaraner, there was also a chocolate lab and some type of shepherd mix. Everyone was pretty well behaved... the chocolate lab was whining to see my dog but it was all under control. A woman comes in- looks around and says, "Oh, dogs." Brilliant statement. She has a child with her of about 4 years old. We all had our dogs on the proverbial "short leash" but the woman was completely paranoid that someone was going to attack her child. She kept saying, "Miranda- we don't know if those dogs like kids." True- and kids should be taught not to approach a strange dog BUT everytime the child shifted her weight from one leg to the other the mother gasped and grabbed her like she was about to run into the street.
I leaned over to my son and said, "Maddy likes kids with a nice bernaise sauce..." The truth is, Maddy is a retired therapy dog
Anyway, I found it humorous that someone would be so distressed about seeing dogs at the vets office.
