The end of January we will be taking the 7 day cruise on DCL. We arrive back on Saturday and wanted to add to our vacation a 4 nighter at WDW. We would need a 1 bedroom. Saturday costs alot of points and to be honest we will not be going to the parks that day. We'll probably go to Kennedy Space center and a few other spots. Since points are higher would you rent for Saturday or stay elsewhere and start a reservation for Sunday? I thought of checking into Caribbean Beach, but then the cost would almost be the same as checking in at OKW on Saturday....

Yikes, the decision between hoarding points and what you really want to do. I'd like to just check in on Saturday, unpack and get settled. Last time we stayed 3 nights and lived out of the suitcase (while doing laundry) and it didn't feel like we ever got settled.

What do you guys think?

My vote would be to go for it and stay at OKW the whole time. I know the Saturday night points hurt, but think about it... you will be just off a relaxing cruise and for such a short stay at the resort, you dont want to have to shuffle around.

OR.... you could find a hotel near KSC and bunk down there for the night, drive to WDW early, check in and then go straight to the park....

So many options.... but which one is the best.... it is what I go thru when booking each and every vacation at WDW. Good luck!

I would eat the points, check in and get settled...unless you REALLY REALLy want to do KSC...then I would take Laurabearz advice and stay somewhere close by Sat pm..

You're going to be tired on Saturday...so, check in at OKW, have a refreshment at the Suitcase...take a boat ride to DTD (you'll be missing the Cruise;))..relax and enjoy:)

HTH!!

Stay at OKW the whole time. We have done two 7 day cruises (one just a few weeks ago) and in each case went right back to the BWV after disembarking the ship on Saturday.

I'd stay somewhere near KSC for that 1st night and drive to WDW Sunday morning.

Best wishes -

The cost of a one bedroom at OKW that time of year is $350 or about $262 with discount, the cost of a moderate that time of year is $79 that is a special price most can get. Hardly costing the same.

When I went to the Disney site to book, they wouldn't let me for the date in January. It just said between 148.00 to 250.00. Hence, that's how I got the price. Thanks for giving me the correct information :)

I think I agree with Laurabearz, if you intend to do KSC that day, why not get a hotel over there and head to your DVC accommodations on Sunday, early, unpack and relax.

Have fun,

Lissa

Aren't KSC & the DCL building fairly close to eachother over on the coast there?? If so, I'd get off the cruise, get a room over near KSC, do what you want to in that vicinity that day, stay overnight over there, get up early Sunday AM & go to WDW.
