Hello Everyone,
I have a quick question for everyone. I am a little disappointed already with the CM I delt with when making my reservations. This is our first trip to the World, and therefore do not know alot about the ins and outs. I told the CM that we would not need the park hopper pass, because we would be there 5 days, and should be able to see all of the parks. the only thing I was concerned about was needing to head over to a certain park that we may have a PS at, if we were not visiting that park that day.

I asked the CM if we could get 7 days worth of Tickets, and then use the extra days tickets to jump to another park for dinner, ect. she placed me on hold came back a minute later and said "Yes, that is OK to do"

Yesterday, my wife was looking on this board and seen where someone had said that it wasnt allowed, so I called and Sure enough, the lady placed me on hold again came back a few minutes later and said "well the first two people I asked said yes, but then the last person said NO"

So I asked to speak to a supervisor, who acted like I was lying to her about the original phone call. I am disappointed already in the customer service that I have heard SOOOO much about.

What SHould I do????/

Sorry, I can't help with the ticket question, as I don't know (I have APs), but as far as rude Customer Service, I would call back and explain the situation and make a strong point about how you don't feel warm and fuzzy because CM A and his/her supervisor were rude. Keep asking for supervisors until you DO get someone who can answer your question and make you feel good about your decision. There's no excuse for poor customer service anywhere, and you shouldn't settle for it.

I feel bad that you had a bad CM experience, that can put a damper on enthusiam.

About your tix correct me If I am wrong but wouldn't it cost you more to use extra days worth of tix than to just add on the hopper option? I always buy the hopper option even though most times I don't use it, in case plans change. I like to have the option of going to another park in case I don't want to return to the original one I went to that day.

The other option is to make PS in the restaurants in the parks you plan on vistiting that day only. If you don't want to go through that much planning my dad used to do (a long time ago) was wait until we went into the park or call from the hotel that morning and make reservations for that night. He didn't want to decide ahead of time what parks we were visiting that day until that day. (unheard of on this board, I know) There were always cancellations and most of the times we lucked out getting our first choice.

Whatever you decide I am sure you will forget all about the cm with wrong information when you are enjoying Mickey and his friends.

Sorry you had a bad experience on the phone. I have had rather "short" CM's when I have called in the past too, and it is always a shock because you expect them to act so "Disney"! To be fair I usually get good CM's.

But, don't despair! At the parks I have rarely run into a bad CM. They are usually wonderful! In fact I come home and wonder why everyone can't act like Disney staff. I mean, it isn't hard....you just have to be nice!

As far as the tickets, I have been told that you cannot use a non hopping ticket on the same day at 2 different parks, so I wouldn't plan on it. We have always hopped and will always get that option, but we are spoiled to the hopping because that is the only way we have toured.

Have fun with your planning!

I would strongly recommend getting a park hopper ticket. It is extra, but it is also great if you go to a park and it happens to be very busy just hopping to a different park. It also is nice in that we never are at the Animal Kingdom later than 3 or so in the afternoon which leaves a whole lot of time to hop to another park and enjoy the evening.

as far as not planning on which park to go to ahead of time I think is a mistake. knowing which park to go to each day is a must for us. You will find that different parks are more crowded on certain days than other parks. Also the parks close at different times on different days especially during winter. This is important especially if you don't have a park hopper option. As far as the ticket goes I'm not sure either. I would definately call back and ask. You will find that most CM's are very polite and patient I have never personally had a problem and I ask lots of questions. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with a CM and I promise it will get better. Planning the trip can be alot of fun also hang in there. Also get the CM's name especially if you have a problem and let the managers know.

I second the recommendation of WDW LOVR. Go ahead and get the park hopping option. We never spend an entire day in one park... we usually try to switch parks after our afternoon break. It sort of gives a "change of scenery."

We especially love doing the Animal Kingdom in the morning, then hopping to Epcot for World Showcase browsing and Illuminations.

Sorry about the CM problems, though. I think with all the new policies, every CM doesn't quite have all their facts straight yet. ;)

Just checked out the ticket prices. I was curious about which way is cheaper. As the OP had probably already done and hence wanting the 7 day instead. It is actually cheaper to get a 7 day base ticket than a 5 day w/hopper. 203.00 vs. 228.00 (ticket prices listed here at the Dis). That being the case (as I'm sure many people will be asking) they should have been prepared for the question of using the extra days to hop. I'm sorry for your bad experience with CM's. Hope all future ones are better. :)

This question is actually answered on allearsnet.com. She says that the system won't allow you to use a different day's admission on a day that you've already entered a park. In other words, you can't do what you are proposing.
I know it costs extra, but I would have to agree with getting the park hopper option so that you don't feel pressured to stay at one park all day and get your money's worth.

We have found that for those who visit Disney World twice in a 12 month period, for more than 4 days during each visit, can benefit by buying an anuual pass.
Example: If you visit Disney World Feb. 25 - Mar. 02, 2005 and spend 5 days in the park you can save money if they buy an annual pass and return to Disney World by Feb. 18, 2006 and spend 5 days, planning on departing by Feb. 25 (when the annual pass expires).
Plus you get free parking, discounts on meals and can hop all you want.
Also, if you buy a day ticket, it can be credit towards an annual pass but the pass will expire on the day you bought the original ticket.
Example: If you buy a day ticket on Mar. 10, 2005 and you use it as credit towards an annual pass. The annual pass you buy will expire on Mar. 10, 2006 no matter when you buy it. Even a month later. However, it is a nice way to get a credit for a used ticket.
