Have ressies @ Por for early June @ 94 per nite, now have the chance to get Cbr for 74 per nite, would you switch as kind of concerned about the French Quarter being closed and how that would affect our stay, need help now as the clock is ticking, Thanks for any help.........

the price is for AP holders at 74.00 a nught.so if you have an AP go for it 20.00 a night adds up.

Terry

I'd probably go tot CBR as well just for my own piece of mind. I'm sure if Disney are allowing you to stay there everything will be fine but I would take the saving on the CBR and go back to POR when everything has been re-furbed

If you do decide to stay where you are (I love POR), can't you apply the AP code to your current reservation? ~:D~

I agree with SuzyQue!!

The codes are usually for any of the moderates and you should be able to just call and apply the new code to your existing ressie. Personnally, I like POR-R better than CBR and if FYI, there is no availibility at POR-R until at least July (I called for a wknd in June the other day) due to FQ closing next month, so if you cancel to go to CBR and change your mind again you won't be able to get back that ressie for POR-R so I would just ask about applying the code to your existing ressie.

Let us know how you make out!:D

Just so everyone will understand.....POR and POFQ are seperate. One closing will not affect the other at all (besides pool use). People who are at POR should stay there it is a great resort and you wont even know that POFQ is closed except for less people on the busses. Which is great. Stay at POR and have fun

Also, just because one has a reservation at a particular resort, doesn't automatically mean that he/she can apply an AP rate to it. First of all, if the resort is full, there will be no AP rates available. Secondly, there are only a limited number of rooms that are available at an AP rate. Just because there's rooms available, doesn't mean you can get an AP rate. Just wanted to give that clarification. :D

POR-FQ closing does affect POR-R by closing because they are booking the overflow who would have otherwise booked at FQ into POR-R instead(not just an opinion, I was told so when I spoke to a CM at CRO the other day), so it does affect Riverside's availibility. Many of those who booked FQ before May are receiving up-grades to other resorts like the POLY but those who are calling trying for ressies now for FQ are either asked to be booked at POR-R or told that there is simply no availibility and for those who wanted POR-R to begin with there may be no availibility at all due to the extra bookings from FQ being closed. So if you already have a ressie there and are thinking of changing resorts, just be sure that it's what you want to do as you may not be able to switch back if you change your mind again.

Just wanted to clarify, not trying to be nasty;)

Just to clarify back scoootch,
The question was not about availability of a room. Terry B. alreadye has one. She wanted to apply the rate which she probably wont be able to do because of crowding. However, she was worried that the closing of POFQ would some how adversely affect her stay at POR. It will not. All of the services that POR provides will still be available. More people will be staying there, but the resort is up and running like it should be. It is a great resort and people should not want to switch just because the FQ is closed. The codes are proabably already used, so that will not be an issue. Stay at POR and have a great time.

Fokus17 --

I did realize the question, just meant that there was no reason to switch resorts to have the AP rate applied if it's available and that because of availibility being nill, if entertaining the thought of switching, just to be sure because you won't be able to switch back.
Sorry, didn't mean to turn the issue into a big debate or anything:o I totally agree with you that POR-R is a great resort and to stay put if possible;) I just know for myself, that if I switched resorts thinking it was because I wouldn't be able to have gotten the AP rate applied to the original one, I would have been really bummed out that I didn't stay put when I found out that I could have.
