What Would You Do?

I've been anxiously awaiting fall discounts like everyone else. I am currently booked at POR in a preferred room. It's just me and my two kids but I really like having separate sleep surfaces. I can get POR garden or POFQ for the same dates and save $360. But I lose the guaranteed third sleep surface. If I go POR garden, I also lose the preferred location.

What would you do? What are the odds of getting Alligator Bayou at POR with a garden view?

This is my fifth trip and will be the first time I go without a discount. I also find the fall offers very confusing - they now have 3 and my price is the same no matter which one I choose (including the room only that doesn't apply to my dates 11/14-11/22). Disney, what are you doing and why is it so complicated?

think your chances are pretty good with garden or standard view at POR. unless all the building with the 3rd bed are now preferred. tell the kids that they have to share a bed and if they can't no WDW trip this year. or just bring an air mattress twin size with sheets for it

I would book the garden view and save the money. From what I read on the unofficial port orleans website, garden view can be located in any building except preferred. You could put in a request for Alligator Bayou - maybe building 16 (the closest non-preferred), something so it's still close and has the third sleeping surface.

Thanks - I think I will go ahead and do it. It looks like there are 495 garden view rooms in the Bayou buildings and some in preferred. My youngest kid is a nightmare to sleep with so I would probably sleep with the older one. He has this lovely habit of turning sideways bending his knees and shoving until you move over and eventually fall off the bed. He sleeps through the entire thing but his sleeping partner gets zero rest. He's so restless. I don't need an over tired child on an 8 day solo trip. Eek!
