We are staying at WDW 9/9 to 9/15.

We are driving and have will have our 5 month old baby girl.

We have a few options. We are going to stop over, its just a matter of where.

We have a condo in Myrtle beach, SC that we can stay at for free on our way down, only problem is its almost 2 hours off route 95. But its not bad to get from there to Orlando.

Or we stop at a resort along 95. I figured we could leave a day early, stay in MB and then leave for Disney early the morning we are to check in.

And on the way home, just stop at a hotel along 95. we are coming from NJ.

What would you all do?

I would say it depends on the conditions of the condo stay. If it is a vacant condo I would say go there and save yourself the money of a hotel. Disney isn't cheap after all. If there are people living there I would go for a hotel. It would be kind of rude get there, sleep and then leave first thing in the morning. By the way we took our daughter when she was 6 months and she loved WDW. A Bug's Life maybe not so much:confused3.

This is one of those "it it worth it?" questions that in the end only you can answer if saving the $$ spent on a hotel room is worth it to you, or how much losing 2 hours of your vacation is worth to you. Of course, you asked what I would do...so, I would stay in a hotel. Two hours of extra driving isn't worth saving $100 to me.

I'm not familiar with your route though, is it shorter from the condo to WDW the next day? I wouldn't add 2 hours to an already long trip to save $100 or whatever on a hotel (how much are decent roadside hotels these days? lol) I know that I would especially not drive 2 more hours than I had to with an infant in the car! My dd was hard to entertain in a carseat at that age (well, not too hard, but definitely exhausting to entertain! LOL)

How much will 2 hours of extra gas/tolls cost. How much will the hotel cost? Subtract the cost of gas/tolls from your hotel and you will have your net cost. Then ask yourself, is it worth it to save X? For me, the older I get, the less I want to drive and the more I am willing to pay for a bit of luxury. Only you can best decide what it is worth to you. Safe drive!!!

Its my parents condo. They only use it sometimes. It will be vacant and is in great shape, plenty of room and all that.

Basically its like an hour and a half, 2 hours off 95 on the first leg. In the morning, its about the same distance from MB to Orlando as it would be if we just stopped where we were there on 95. But we drove another almost 2 hours to get to the condo.

I would not stay at the condo, I wouldn't want to be in the car any longer than I had to, especially with a 5 month old.

Not worth it IMHO if you're just looking for a place to crash one night. I live on the north side of the NC/SC line. Our Disney route is Hwy 17 from Shallotte to Hwy 9 at Little River for a short hop then onto Hwy 31 around MB to 501 for a few miles to Conway where we hit 378 to 95 south of Florence. The weekend after Labor Day is still pretty busy and the traffic can be heavy. Plus there is still construction on 501 that may hold you up. It did us for almost an hour on our way to Tampa in April. Last I heard that is a major road project and will be going on for a while. You could take the hwy 22 route but we stopped going that way when they built 31. Either way you may get into traffic delays.

Now, if you could go down a couple days early, since the place is free, it would be a great way to unwind and start your vacation. Even though we live just 30 minutes from the heart of MB and I have to go there to go to the mall, Sam's Club, Target, etc., we still enjoy MB as a "mini vacation weekend" spot. We take the camper down to Surfside or rent a condo at Dunes Village and play tourist at least a couple times a year. Broadway reminds me of DTD.

I missed this part. If you are doing a mini-stay at MB then the extra 2hrs is worth it.

We bought the I drive 95 book and decided to stay somewhere off 95 in either South Carolina or beginning of GA.

We just purchased a new Town and Country Mini van so it will make the trip alot easier.
