:wave2:Hello All! It's been a while, actually to be more specific I haven't been on these boards since 2007 :scared1: mainly due to the fact that my "prince" turned out to be a frog after all :rotfl:

I have been with my new dbf:love: for the past 12 months and short of a couple of trips to Europe we haven't yet managed anything longer than a week so we are now discussing the option of getting a "nice" holiday booked so we have something to look forward to.... now I really think that my other half thinks that Disney is just for little kids and not for us big ones :lmao: so although I have briefly talked about going to Orlando, I still think he thinks it's not for him..... and I have to be honest, I can't believe how much holidays to Disney have gone up by :teacher::scared1: since my last trip in 2005 so if I am going to put Disney on the table then I am going to have to do a lot of researching :surfweb:(which I love :cloud9:) so that I can put the best possible offer on the table - I will "negotiate" after that ;) so here are a couple of questions!

1. Ideally I want it to be hot, hot, hot - we are both okay with high temps and the humidity and having been in July over Independence Day I am very much drawn to this time of year so are there likely to be any free dining deals on roughly over this time???

2. If not, what is the weather like the last week in August, for 2 weeks as it seems to be showing on Virgin that this time is earmarked for free disney dining?? :confused3

3. Does Virgin just add the free disney dining on after you have booked (as long as you book within the timescales) or should I be able to see it on the booking details before I confirm the booking?

4. Do all Disney hotels include the free disney dining?? I am thinking Disney Yacht and Beach Club :snooty::lmao:

It really is great to be back on these boards.... I love the feeling of the pixie dust pixiedust:

I can't help you with the weather in august...sorry but we always go in Sept...it's hot enough for us:rotfl:

We just booked with Virgin, you need to add park tickets to get the free dinng and be staying in atleast a moderate resort. When you are adding your hotel to the booking you will have an option to add the dining plan which will be free if you book for August.

Hope this is some help

I've been in July twice before, but last year we decided to go the last week of August/first week of September. It was perfect - the weather was roasting, there wasn't anywhere mear as much rain as I was expecting and, of course, free dining :lovestruc The crowds were so much lower than in July too...I won't be going back that month any time soon!

Honestly, if I were you, I'd go for August not July :goodvibes

We're heading there September 2011...to take advantage of the Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP and the weather....and low crowds! :cloud9:

Hi, welcome back!

Good to hear that you traded your frog for a prince! ;)

I just want to mention that free dining can not be added after you have booked. You can pay for it and add it, but if you are going during a typical free dining period, wait for it to be offered and make sure the resort you choose qualifies for the promotion. Also check your confirmation immediately. If it doesn't show, get on the phone and make them sort it out. ;)

You also need to note that the dining plans have changed since 2005. There are now 3 plans, none of which include tips anymore.

If you want appetizers then only the Deluxe covers these but it is quite pricey by way of comparison to the regular DDP.

If you book through Diseyworld.co.uk room & tickets you get free dining and they are also offering 15% off yacht & beach :thumbsup2 (doesn't include flight inclusive though)

Thanks Elise79 :thumbsup2, shall have a look at that now.... still debating between going back to either AKL or WL or trying something different so that would be Y&BC!! Does anyone know when Virgin Atlantic will release August 2011 flights to book?

Good news is that DBF has said I have carte blanche to book where ever I want :goodvibes but I will need to get very good rates and the free DDP for him to feel that it is good value for money - once he has been he will get what all the fuss is about ;)

On a slightly different matter, and me being extremely confident about getting this booked ;) I have been looking at all the new restaurants that have appeared since 2005 and I have noticed that quite a lot of items that are on menus are with cheese and DBF doesn't "do" cheese (well none of us are perfect :rolleyes1) - are the restaurants open to you asking for no cheese on food ordered or does it have to come as advertised??? Strange question I know ;)

Having something left off is not a problem. And you would be surprised how common this request is. Think about it - 10 year old children are compelled to take the adult dining plan. I won't even hazzard a guess as to how often ingredients are requested to be omitted from the plates. Disney is very accommodating.

I don't do cheese and they're always very accommodating...or I find the meals that don't have it in...there's plenty of them! I always make DF order it for me though!

I think - not 100% - VA flights are released 11 months in advance

:goodvibes
