We have trip planned Nov 7 - 19th and are doing split stay. For Nov 14th - 19th we are in AKV 1 bedroom savannah view. So that part of the trip is set.

For the first part of the trip I need help. From Nov 7th - 13th what would you do and why? There will be me, DH, DS5, DD1, MIL, BIL, & SIL. Here are the options:

Option 1: Stay entire time at OKW in 2 bedroom unit

Option 2: Stay in SSR 2 bedroom for first 4 nights and then move to 2 separate AK Savannah Studios for last 2 nights

Option 3: Get 2 studios at either SSR or OKW for the entire time.

My DH has already borrowed more points than I wanted him to so I don't want to use anymore points from 2011 UY. TIA

I'd go with option 1, and see if you can get a dedicated 2 BR. That one (I believe) gives you the 2 queens in the second bedroom. You also have the nice outside area for dining.

Well I would see if they will let you book an OKW 1 bed. My understanding is with the addition of the sleeper chair they are allowing that. It would save you quite a few points to make-up for the ones you've borrowed.

Since there are six people plus one child under age 3 who can sleep in a pack 'n play, you'll still need either a 2 BR or 2 Studios. The lowest number of points would probably be at OKW. The rooms there are larger and the studios have two queen beds so your in laws would all be okay in a room by themselves.

I'm having problems advising you further regarding the points because I don't know how many points you have available for use. If needed you can purchase one time use points for $15 per point from the DVC, so if you are a little short (up to 24 points) you get extra points that way versus borrowing more from 2011.

So from looking at the charts a studio at OKW runs 79 points a week X 2 = 158 points. Or a 2BR runs 230 points. Definitely less points with studios. You'll just have to do laundry outside the villa at the resort's laundry room. Since you won't have a full kitchen you'd also have a limited menu for dining in the room, but you might have an DDP so that won't matter.

I would think that would be a nice compromise. Stay at OKW in separate villas and then move to AKV and have a two BR.
