We live in the Salt Lake City area and a flight for a family of 4 to MCO is around 1400 we could drive 6 hours to Vegas and fly for 943. It would only cost around 60 dollars for gas in our Mazda. Would you drive 6 hours to save around 400 dollars?

Is it 6hrs each way or 3hrs each way?

Will this force you guys to either take more time off from work or cut down the length of your visit?

If it is a 12 hour drive round trip to save 400, I would skip the drive.

No, I wouldn't want to deal with flying then need to get in a car and drive 6 hours to get home.

Thanks! I see your point about driving 6 hrs home after a long flight. It just seemed so tempting to save some money.;) Just looking at options, but I'm sure it's not worth it.

I would keep checking airfare. Even for Salt Lake to MCO that's a bit high. I got flights from Dulles to LAX for $230 Rt last year by watching fares very closely.

I agree, I wouldn't want to get into a car after a long flight for 6 hours. The only other option is to stay one night in Vegas after you get in. Just a place to sleep. Vegas is pretty cheap right now, you might get a good deal.

I don't know when you're going to WDW, but check the flights into Tampa (TPA).
We saved a barrel of money flying non-stop into TPA instead of MCO. The drive time to where we're staying in Kissimmee is only a half hour longer.
Good Luck All,
Joe
