As a planner, I thrive off feedback from other Disney freaks like myself, so I was curious to know how you would "plan" this senario....

OK we (Disney Freak Family) who goes almost every year are going in late June/early July..in the beginning it will be just 4 of us and we will pretty much just do what we want , when we want, as we have AP's,

But on 7/2 my Dad & his wife come up to join us, they are not "Disney people" so they claimed until one year we brought them into Epcot, took them on Soarin, test track, out to dinner @ LeCellier and then scoped out a table to watch illuminations...now they can't wait to do the same!

I guess my question is since we usually do 1 day park, next day pool option (and we will do TL and Epcot), and Dad will be there from Weds. thru Sunday would you do the water park on Thursday morning? Or would you wait until the weekend when there is an EMH option (although I worry about how many locals will partake?).

Just Curious!
Thanks for humoring me,
Lisa

Hi Neighbor!

Since you're a planner (okay, "freak") like we are, you probably already know that Wed and Thurs crowds are usually the best for Epcot, which is especially important to note during an obscenely busy time like July 4. So, my suggestion would be to def hit Epcot on Wed or Thurs, but, you are correct - I would worry about the locals at TL on a weekend in July.

I guess I did not really help all that much, but I felt I had to actually reply to help out a neighboring Disney freak living in The Commonwealth! Good luck! Where are you staying?? We just returned from SSR a few weeks ago and will hit BCV in August.

Well right back at ya, Neighbor:thumbsup2 ... We will be spending 10 days @ the BWV (we alternate between OKW & BWV) DH love OKW as do we but it was DD16 turn to choose,

Currently on a waitlist for a coveted BW view (we shall see) if not I hope to get Luna Park view.

How did you like SSR? Haven't stayed there yet or our home resort VWL but have hit just about everywhere else on property.

Thanks for you insight, I believe we have hit those quite days @ Epcot a few times and really enjoyed it. But I guess if they have the EMH (@ the water park) we can hang in for the majority of the morning (sleep late) and head over maybe just in time for others to be leaving for the day????

Have you ever done that?

Yes the 4th seems to be our signature time of the year to go, although next year we will try April. I keep telling DD I can't wait until she isn't in school no more so we can go whenever we want? All in good time!

Nice to meet you,
Lisa

Hello to both neighbors! :wave2: We are heading down on July 3rd , we go every summer but never this early! We were actually thinking we would skip our trip this year (how silly) so now I am scrambling to get 5 consecutive nights at the SAME resort....I am so not used to this! lol

Anyway, enough about me! I would guess it would be better to hit the water park before the weekend, but I wonder if everything is crazy during this time? You are the expert here so I have a question for you....we were thinking of going to Epcot, but since it is our sons 18th birthday (on the 4th) we will let him decide. I believe the evening EMH are at MGM.....where do you usually spend the 4th?

Just make sure that you hit the water parks really early in the morning or you won't get a chair. They are really at a premium...even during off-seasons.

Hi Corinne,

I don't consider myself to be an expert at all! Although the 4th is usually when we go (your kind of stuck when the kids hit the upper grades in school) we've been going that weekend since 2002. As far as which park we go into on the 4th, we've gone into a park (Epcot) the very first year we started going down during the 4th and then we decided we would never do it again.

We make the 4th a pool day, I usually will make a reservation to eat at the Polynesian, that way we have a front row seat and we won't be asked to leave because we have a ressie.

The year we did go to Epcot on the 4th it was packed (shoulder to shoulder). I can't imagine what MK was like. If this is you first time for the 4th, the crowds will be heaviest on the 3rd, 4th & 5th, but then should thin out a bit.

It will seem like alot though. Just keep the Disney Freak mentality, whatever I don't do this time, I'll do next time I go back(which to most of us is actually already in the planning stages anyway!) .

Regards & Enjoy,

P.S. Maybe we'll bump into each other. Just look for a man in red sox grab, woman with her hair pulled back with a 16yo redhead with lots of curls and DD will have company too...... thats us!
