We had planned on staying 4 nights originally at WL but they were booked so then Poly conc. followed by 2 nights at the AKL in a 1 bedroom suite. The problem is that we can only get 3 nights at the Poly. clv. We could back the days off a few and get it but our flights would go up quite a bit and there are 6 of us. Here's my question. I think we can get the AKL first but I was thinking maybe we would be disappointed going back to the Polynesian after staying in the suite. Has anyone done both? Or do you think they are enough different that it really won't matter. I am getting pretty frustrated with this whole thing and I started planning 16 months in advance! I really thought the AKL would be a big treat for my children but we can't afford to stay there the whole trip. Thanks for any advice.

We did a split stay at AKL and Poly last summer. My kids love POLY so much, they would sleep in a corner on the floor if I'd let them. AKL was fun, but the pool and monorail access at Poly are a bigger draw for my clan. We were CL level at both places, but didn't use it at AKL because it was up two floors and on the opposite side of the building from our room. At Poly the CL was just down the hall. We loved that!

I think the experiences will be different enough that it will not matter. You're mixing very nice apples with very nice oranges. Rather than alter your trip dates, do the split stay and have a WONDERFUL time! :cheer2:

I don't think you're kids are going to care. My boys love AKL and Poly equally for different reasons. And kids rarely notice the difference between staying in a suite vs. staying in a regular room... they just want to hit the parks and the pool! ;) So if you can make it work with AKL first and then switch to the Poly I don't think it will be a let down or a disappointment at all. Your kids are going to love the Poly! :)

How can Poly CL be a disappointment? ;)

What about a reg Poly room for the entire stay, so you would not have to switch resorts at all? The newer Poly building rooms (Tokelau, Tahiti and Rapa Nui) are larger than the Hawaii CL rooms, so that would be nice too..if you book a Lagoon view and request Tahiti, you'd save money, be in one resort, have a nice large room, great view and handy to monorail at GCH and/or TTC...and the water launch as well!! Or to save even more go with a Garden view room at the Poly :)

Have a great trip!!
