I am planning a trip May 4-9 (sun-thurs) for next year. I already have a studio booked at SSR (my home resort) but really want to try BCV. Tomorrow is 7 months out from the first day of my trip. Should I call day to day to book BCV or do you think that I will have no problem booking the whole trip on the 9th? my hubby wants me to do day to day, but I think there is no need. What do you think???? thank you for your help.

I would call day by day. Just for the peace of mind aspect.

It really isn't that big of a deal to do DBD. But that is really not the key to the right answer.

Scenario:

Your spouse has indicated a feeling that you should take the safe route to be sure and to optimize your chances. You don't take the safe route and find out that one of the days you want (the 3rd day) isn't available.... You know the rest of the story.

Moral of the story.... do the DBD

I believe Friday (Oct. 5) is the first day you can book since it is 7 months from the checkout date of May 5.

I was just about to mention this.....I am booking a WDW trip for the same dates and have it marked on my calendar to start calling Friday, Oct.5th!

I think you will be fine waiting until the end to book it all. That said, I would call day by day, because I like to be sure.

That's why you're here, (on the DISboards) but then again, I can't imagine a CM that would allow you to look silly because you are trying to get your desired dates... that is what it is all about... I would expect them to help you understand how to acheive that... and I think they will....

Yes... as I said before.... there is nothing much worse than your spouse saying "be careful" and you aren't... It would be much different if he said don't worry about it and let's just see what happens... Nothing worse than not listening to your spouses warnings... and being wrong.

You are making the right decision.

Let us know if you are successful. Did you ask the CM how availability looked for your stay. I always ask and they are pretty good and will give you an honest answer. I am booking day-by-day for BWV studio right now too. I'm just booking preferred view because the CMs at MS told me that there were too many nights that have no availability for standard and BWView. Just 2 more days to call and I'm done. I wanted a 1 bedroom standard view, but there were a couple of nights it was not available. Generally early May is an easier time to book and in the past I booked at the end of my stay, but it seems to be getting harder each year. Since I needed 2 studios, I couldn't be too flexibile in terms of a waitlist. Once I get a solid reservation I will probably waitlist for the 1 bedroom standard view, but if I don't get it, I at least have a place to sleep.

when i talked to the CM yesterday she told me to call back Monday..so I guess they are open.

she also told me that the week looked good and I should have no trouble getting my reservation if I call day to day.
