I really need some help here.

I've already purchased Ridemax.

I'm torn on what days to visit DL during our vacation. Our dates are Nov. 10th - Nov. 17th, with only 1/2 day on the 10th since I don't believe we'll be getting into the parks (or trying to) until around 3:00 PM.

Veteran's Day weekend starts on Friday Nov. 9th, with Monday, Nov. 12th being the actual holiday.

We will have 5-day park-hopper passes, plus we are going to Universal and Knott's Berry Farm on 2 of those days.

We want to see Fantasmic, Wishes, Electric Light Parade and the Christmas Parade. (which we hope will start on Friday, Nov. 16th.--the day before we leave)

I would love to go to DL on Sunday, the 11th, but because it's a holiday, I'd be nervous about leaving the park for a rest period during the day because I'm afraid we may not be able to get back into the park---and with a 5-yr-old, we're going to need that break.

What about Universal instead on that Sunday? We are willing to purchase front of the line passes for Universal if we decide to go there over the holiday.

Knott's I'm doing during a weekday for sure.

What do you DL experts think the parks will be like on Monday?

Here was what happened in 2006. www.laughingplace.com/Guide-Cal-DLR2-200611.asp

You are quite correct about Vets day weekend. It has been incredibly busy the last couple years. Especially the Friday, which also is about the time Small World Holiday opens and the holiday decorations go up.

When do you need to decide by? Will it influence hotel selections?

If it were me, I would try to put off deciding as long as possible so as to get better information about holiday plans at DLR (which should firm up in Sept.) I would reserve a hotel all week and the later cancel days I end up not needing.

If it was me, and I had to decide now, here is what I would do.

Assuming a similar schedule holds in 2007 as 2006, the only reason to visit DLR during Vets weekend is to see the Parade of Dreams. All other entertianment can be experience on weekdays except for Fantasmic which you can see on the weekend of Nov. 16-18.

So that would mean using four of your days on Mon-Thurs, and then your fifth day on Fri or Sat Nov 16-17. Of the two, I think Friday is better because it is a weekday and, while it will be crowded in the evening, it will be less crowded during the day.

If you are dead set on doing Knott's on a weekday, well that leaves the other four weekdays for DLR and then DLR on the first Sunday or final Saturday. I would probably choose the final Saturday to get away from Vets weekend, but I am not sure it will matter very much.
