I have reservations for August 21st to August 31st at the Swan, for the $125 per night rate. I also have WL for the same time period with the 40% code and dining. I'm thinking to book 5days of free dining from August 26th to August 31st, but what should I do for the 1st 5 days? Should I keep the Swan @ the rate of $125 and pay OP for dining or should I keep the WL @40% off with the dining plan. I know either way that I will have to buy 1day passes to get the free dining. Is it a pain to switch resorts? Is it even worth it? We have stayed at the Swan and enjoyed it(love the location), never been to WL. For my family free dining is a greater saving then the 40% code. But since you will have to have tickets for the first pat of your vacation separate from the tickets purchased to qualify for free dining during the second half, does it actually work out cheaper?

I dont know your specifics but I'll work up a scenario -

Std room 215 - 40% = 145/night with tax
5 nights = 725.63
DDP 2 adults 2 children = 99.96
5 nights = 499.80
Total = 1225.43

Std Room 215 = 241.88 with tax
5 nights = 1209.38
Dining free
1 day tickets to qualify - 262 with tax
total = 1471.37

So while your room/dining cost is $14 less doing free ddp, it costs you an extra 245.94 doing free ddp with a split stay but you have left over 1 day tickets.



If you have a child over 9 - ddp = 639.80, a 140 difference. Your one da tickets also increase $11, So you would still be paying an extra 117 to split your stay and obtain free ddp (although like I said you then do have extra tickets)

Also be aware that if you try to make any changes to your reservation with the 40% off you may not be able to keep the 40% discount - Disney has been weird about any changes to these packages in some cases.
