Ok this is the issue. I had planned a trip for me and my ds12. A mommy and tween bonding trip. Of course my mother and father(said picky eater, seems nothing ever can please him). Decided they wanted to go. Anyhow, I drug my father to my house 3 months ago to look over menus, different resteraunt descriptions, pictures etc. He says I wish to go wherever you, and my grandson go. I told him. No, take a look, and make your decisions. I want everyone to be sated, this is your trip also. You decide where you want to eat. Well he looked, and looked, and decided hey your restaurants sound good. (Lecieller, Concourse, Kona, Ohana, Wolfgang Cafe, Boma)Make my adrs to match yours. He insisted. I tell him be wary because you may not be able to change where you want to eat. It is difficult to change ressies the closer you get to your trip.Ok he says. Ok, so i make the adrs, and now less than a month to go. He decides now that he doesnt like restaurants that decorate plates, and put little specks of meat, and a spot of potatoes On his plate. He wants "regular food" now. Because, he doesnt eat all types of strange food. Well, I was beyond pissed off!! But, I held my temper, and told him. Ok, let me see what i can do. he now wanted italian, and now he rather eat at mostly buffet's since he likes to overeat. Ok, so I get him, and her into CP for dinner, and change them from Kona to Alfredo'. My mother comes over today, and says you know maybe he will like WCC also. I said you know what you take the number to disney dining and do what you want. Because. I am not in it anymore. Just dont mess up my reservations. What would most of you do, about this situation? I am pretty ticked off. Personally. Maybe I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

Sorry you are having these troubles. I try to please everyone with the dining reservations, too, but draw the line at changing them once they are made. I would have done exactly what you did -- change a few then give them the phone number and let them call and change their ADRs to their heart's content!

The people who go on trips but dont do all the planning themselves really have no idea how much work we "planners" do. Maybe they'll appreciate your hard work more if they actually know how much work it is!

MMmears, thank you for posting me. I really appreciate it. I do feel alot better after reading your post thanks!!! :thumbsup2

My DH is picky and I know where you are coming from. I think you did the right thing by handing over the number to them. This way they can't blame you if they don't like a place! LOL!

I tell my DH to tell me a few places he really, really wants to eat and then I just do the rest and tell him where we are going and when. It seems like whenever I try to make him happy it ends up in a fight as he just wants me to decide.

So that is what I did this trip. I really have to be a drill sargeant or nothing will get done.

WdWobsessed my father is beyond picky, he complains, complains, complains.I tell you nothing ever satisfies him. He finds something wrong, or bad in basically everything. We were talking about different dishes at Kona, the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi. He said he would never like that. cause what is that? He says he doesnt like sauces. But, is the first one to rave about stewed down chicken.Or gravy? Go figure. He is just plain difficult at times. Other times, he is the sweetest man you could know. But, you know what? Its out of my hands. I am going to go and enjoy every bit of my vacation. If we are at dinner and he complains. I will let my mother deal with it

I think you did fine.

Originally you gave him the opportunity to give input on restaurant choices, he said they were fine. At that point if he decides he doesn't like your choices, he is own on finding and making reservations to his liking. The kicker is that they were "add-on's" to your vacation plans.

My parents know that unless they are in the first plans then after I start making reservations, I will take their input under advisement.
