What would you do?

MY wife, 10 year old daughter and I will be taking "mammy" and "pappy" to Disney World during President's week (Feb. '07) I presently have reservations for 5 nights at SSR in a 2 Bedroom (Thinking about switching to OKW at the 7 month window). My inlaws will be leaving and we plan to stay an additional 3 nights in a studio at BWV. (I own points at SSR and BWV)

A 2 Bedroom at BWV not available at this time.

Will it be a let down moving to a studio? Is it easier to move if I stayed in the same resort?

What would you do?

Split the difference and stay in a one-bedroom. You'll have most of the space, the kitchen and washer/dryer and the big master bath. DD can sleep on the pull-out in the living room.

All the units at BWV are lockoffs, iirc. You can request when you check in for the two bedroom to stay in the same one bedroom portion (or studio if you go that route) when you change rooms. If they can accomodate, they'll block off your one bedroom or studio for your second reservation when you check in for your first. When the switch day comes, just move all your stuff to whichever part of the room you're keeping, close the adjoining door, and that's it! We just did this in May and it worked out wonderfully. They slid new keys under our door the morning of the switch so we didn't even have to visit the front desk.

If it is only going to be you and your dd for the studio stay, I don't think it will be a disappointment. The only thing you're really losing is the whirlpool tub (if you even use it).

I think I'd feel funny staying in a 1br with only 2 people, particularly if one is sleeping on the pull out! Eventually, I think my dh and I will do a stay in a 1br just ourselves.....but I'm sure it will feel weird!

Ah, sorry, didn't read properly (too late and too much sangria tonight...). I still think a studio will be fine. We've gone from a 2br to a hotel room with 3 children and it wasn't that horrible. If you're willing to spend the points a 1br would be fine as well...
