I called about the Disney Visa code, and there was no availability for the ressie I already have. WL woods view bunk beds 11/16-11/23 w/dining. But the CM offered a standard room at BC for about $350 less!! My boys will be 6 and 41/2 at trip time and can both swim on their own, but is Stormalong Bay too much for them at this age? Many of my dining ressies were made with the WL in mind.

I have always wanted to stay at YC/BC but thought I would wait until the boys were older.

Any suggestions?

If you have the opportunity, I would do it now! You never know how the prices are going to skyrocket in the next few years!

I have never stayed at BC, but I would do it in a heartbeat with the offer you received. I believe it's a better value for your vacation dollar.

Also, I have seen Stormalong Bay and think your boys would love it. As long as you are in the pool with them, I do not think it would be much different "safety-wise" from the WL pool.

I think this may be the time to give the BC a try. Does the theming appeal to you? If so, I would do it. There are some great restaurants in that area, too.

Either vacation should be excellent. I love Disney's Deluxe Resorts

I agree with everyone else. Even though I LOVE WL, I would jump at the chance to stay at BC, especially for $350 cheaper. And trust me, your children will love Stormalong Bay! I'm sure you would watch them just as much at SAB pool as you would at WL's pool.

I, too, was trying recently to get WL for our trip beginning Thursday. The rate they offered me for YC was at least 1200 LESS than my total of 10 days, 5 at POR and 5 at WL.

I jumped on it - it was too good to pass up. When I get back, I will post a trip report on SAB and YC, but there are many here who have nothing but lovely things to say about the shared pool and both resorts.

Take it!!!;)

I just switched from a standard room at WL to a standard room at Beach Club for the discount. I am nervous, hoping I did not do the wrong thing at Christmastime.

Honestly, I can afford to pay rack-rate on WL in the future (which is what I was doing this time) but not at Beach Club for 7 nights. I think my savings was like $400.

Go! Try the BC and take the deal! Its a georgus resort, excellent location and the price sounds like a no brainer.

Standard room at the BC during VALUE season this year was $315 plus tax
Standard room at the WL during same time frame was $215

There's a reason for that... while the Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, it fails to compare to the BC in my opinion.... you can WALK right into Epcot (and even MGM if you don't mind the 15/20 min. stroll). Stormalong Bay is INCREDIBLE (we stay at the YC or BC every time we go and my DD's at 2 and 4 and then again at 4 and 6 could not be dragged out of stormalong bay!). Stormalong Bay has a kiddie area that is no deeper than 18" and has a sand-bottom. The whole pool area is approx. 3 acres. It's magnificent! The hotel itself is fabulous-great restaurants (though there are no counter service unless you count Hurricane Hanna's and the BC Marketplace). The Boardwalk is directly across from the YC/BC....

To me, it's a no-brainer where to stay! Take that opportunity because you'll probably not see it again ever! :woohoo:

My original package was WL Woods View w/bunk beds, park hoppers w/dining for $4133.96 11/16-11/23.

Same package at standard room BC with Visa code $3795.30 for a savings of $338.66:woohoo:

But when I priced the package for the BC online without the code it is $4519.80!!!! At a savings of $724.50, it's basically like getting free dining.

You made a great choice. And that is a heck of a discount! I'm hoping for a similar AP rate!
