notice you didn't plan on staying to watch Fantasmic at MGM on Monday. Have you already seen it?

don't know waht you mean by "walking from WS". Garden Grill is in The Land pravillion. Boradwalk is a 5 minute walk from Epcot.

I like the Rose and Crown at EPCOT, but you'll probably get positive/negative responses about every restaurant there. If you want help, you need to tell us what you're looking for (other than just fun), or read about the different places on this site, or allearsnet.com, or the official disney site.

WS = world showcase

I never ever saw Fantasmic. Last time i was at disney was in '99 and i got sick the 2nd day there so didn't do much. it was horrible. had nightmares ever since for 5 years (not kidding, almost every night that i'm near disney, but can't get inside) i was extremely upset that i missed the dumbo ride-realized on plane ride home.

Garden Grill is on the right side (as you're walking in) of Future World in the Land Pavillion. I would say it's a long way from the very back of WS, but not far at all from, say, Canada or the UK. We had dinner there in February and it was one of the best of our trip, we really enjoyed it and plan to go back next trip. I think it wouldn't be any more difficult to get to Garden Grill than to exit, walk to the Boardwalk, and come back in. It all depends on what you want to eat, really. If you haven't seen the menus you can look at them here.

Edited to add: If you're entering from the main entrance at the front of Epcot, you'll have to walk past the Garden Grill to get to WS anyway, and again to leave the park.

You mentioned you were staying offsite, we do too. Sunday is the Extra Magic Hour morning at the MK for onsite guests. They get to arrive at the park one hour prior to its opening to offsite guests and enjoy some of the most popular attractions. Because of this, it will be crowded when you get to the MK. Some people insist that they have to go to MK on their first full day and if that is the case then don't change your plans, but I would. We avoided Extra Magic Hour parks every day but one on our last trip. The one day we went to MK on an EMH day it was crowded and pretty discouraging. Dumbo already had a 90 minute wait (it was the week between Christmas and New Years). Even though it won't be as busy at the parks for our next visit, I will not go to any park that has EMH. The Unofficial Guide Book recommends avoiding these parks if you are an offsite guest.
Have a great trip!:)
Amy

The Disney feel happens as soon as the highway signs turn from green to purple::yes:: Whe you return, please let us know how the goal of sustaining the Disney mood went when you went to Universal:D Sounds like you have plenty of time for a fun trip:earsboy:

I would agree with others here that say the best way to keep that continuous Disney feel is to stay at a Disney resort. Because that way, you are continuously surrounded by Disney. Plus, you don't have to pay for parking (which otherwise is $8 per day) and you can enjoy Extra Magic Hour in the parks which gives you at least 1 additional hour in the parks.

for the value and proximity to disney we decided on hotel offsite, plus we get free breakfast.

the EMH stinks-when did this start?? i went back in july 1999 (110 degrees first day-made me sick and ruined that trip)

Is Monday an EMH day for MK?? Bec. then i'll switch it w/ MGM. What do u think?::yes::

Here's the EMH schedule.

Sunday = MK
Monday = AK
Tuesday = Disney Studios (MGM)
Wednesday = Epcot
Thursday = MK
Friday = AK
Saturday = Disney Studios (MGM)

The EMH has come and gone over the past several years. It has been back since I think the fall of 2002. Disney can change their schedule for this at any time, but this particular schedule has been around for a while. They are testing a new schedule in the middle of May though, I think it is this week or next. It would be a good idea to keep checking back to these boards to make sure things haven't changed prior to your trip.

I totally understand what you are saying about the price of staying offsite. After calculating the cost for the least expensive on site options (two rooms at the All Stars or one Fort Wilderness Cabins), we are saving $600 by staying offsite in a two bedroom villa with a kitchen, washer and dryer, and two bathrooms. That is the savings after we add in the cost of the minivan we are renting. We figure that $600 will cover the cost of food, souveniers, and we may even have some left over.

Good Luck with your plans!
Amy:D

i am saving hundreds of dollars by staying offsite. that emh isn't worth it to me, plus we get free breakfast

500 for week, vs 1240!
