I have an opportunity to purchase a 25 pound box of peaches. The cost is $14. It's a steal! I am finding it hard to pass up this deal. But at the same time I keep thinking what am I going to do with 24 POUNDS of peaches? That's a lot of peaches. Any suggestions? Or recipes?

I would make my grandma's homemade peach jam (many jars), and also a few cobblers (one for my family, and a few to give away - everyone loves peach cobbler, y'all!), and peach ice cream in our ice cream maker, and I would also make peach purée to add to iced tea. Nothin' like sweet peach iced tea on a hot day! Good luck!

I would can it, I love making jars full of peaches and pears in the fall to last me until the next harvest. Spend a little extra money on the fancy Ball jars and you can give some away as gifts.

I'd take a lot of them to work to share.

I would water bath can them. Loved me the peaches I canned last year!!

freeze them and use them for cobblers, a light dessert with a little frozen ice cream. You would be surprised with how many you use.

Jam, jam, jam. Also puree some and freeze it to add to marinades. Cobblers. Chop and freeze to add to smoothies and salsa. We live in peach country.

I would can them and probably freeze some slices to bake with at a later date (or use for smoothies). I just saw a recipe for Peach Lemonade on Blendtec's website which might be yummy.

Cut some or them up to freeze for smoothies (but really the Margarita idea is better)

Can them. I could live on canned peaches :)

I'd be over the moon if I could find peaches for that price around here. $1.99 a pound is the best I've seen in a long time.

Not a bargain if you can't use them. Love peaches, but my Doctor says all stone fruit are a no-no, too much sugar.

Peaches fall in the "low to medium sugar" category for fruit. The only fruits lower in sugar are melon and berries. There are MUCH higher sugar fruits than peaches. Everything in moderation :o that's why we have freezers! Lol.
