Hi all,

We'll only be at Universal Friday after 12:30p and all day Saturday. Which park would you do when?

We'll stay one night at HRH for FOTL access.

Our priority is the Grinch, the mummy ride and if my DD is finally 54 inches by November, a couple of Rollercoaster.

I was thinking Universal Friday and IOA in the AM to see the Grinch and do Suess Landing for my 5 year old and then I could transfer over to Universal for what we missed on Friday.

Is this a good idea? I know it will be crowded but this is when we'll be there.

Thanks!

With FOTL, you should be OK.

One thing you might want to consider is doing at least part of IOA when you get there on Friday. The reason is because the water rides are there and the afternoons would be better to do then. Also you wouldn't be at the park too long in wet clothes.

Both IOA and Universal will be equally busy so it doesn't matter which day you do which park.

Thank you!

I figured we'd do IOA first thing Saturday morning because the Grinch and Suess Landing is a priority. Then we can jump over to Universal for what we didn't get to on Friday afternoon.

Thanks again. I sure hope FOTL will help us this time around. Usually we don't really need it but it's going to be useful this time!

With FOTL you shouldn't have any trouble seeing both parks no matter how you do it. I would plan around when you want to get wet. IOA is a very wet park. It has some of the wettest attractions I have ever been on. When I did the wet rides, I planned to getting changes after riding them all.

Thank you! I'm really hoping the FOTL will help us out. I'd rather be at Universal those 2 days with FOTL than at WDW without it!

We don't do many wet rides as my 2 DD do not like getting wet unfortunatley. :confused3

Is Universal Extremely busy the Friday after Thanksgiving, I would think most people would be shopping.

Yes, it is extremely crowded on Friday (the day after Thanksgiving.)

I am bumping this since I am currently researching a T-day trip.....but don't worry i will spend days reading out of "search" before i bother you ;)

The replies from above hold true.

Turkey Day-not too busy, tons of deals/specials for Turkey dinner in the parks/CW.

Fri-Sun after Turkey Day-VERY busy.

so It sounds like a good plan would be a few days prior to Tday Universal, day before t-day Seaworld since it eats crowds better, and Tday itself would be doable at Universal(with FOTL) would you think that the best plan for the Friday would be Discovery cove since the attendance is capped anyways? Then fly home saturday.

We've gone Thanksgiving weekend the last couple of years. We have TG dinner
at Tchoup Choup - kind of a new tradition.

They did not have Grinchmas this year until mid-December - so no grinch. The
previous years it was going on Thanksgiving weekend and was great. We did
the snow slide over and over again with no wait. DS loved that.

I don't think it is all that busy that weekend - Especially Thursday and Friday. We
usually do UO on Thursday and IOA of Friday - sometimes going back to UO that
evening. Then a mix on Saturday. We like UO best and tend to do IOA pretty
quickly. The back part of the park we pretty much breeze through. DS doesn't
like the two big water rides in the back and there isn't much else to do back there.

When we do get to see the Grinch we love asking where they dog is. They always
have an annoyed answer. One time he said "Where's the dog, Wheres the dog, it is
all about the dog. They are such unique creatures - now grinches, you see them
everyday." LOL He had us in stitches. They do have a dog, but he seems to
take lots of breaks.

I saw that you mentioned Grinchmas in your post. i am going to universal in early December for the first time and I thought I read that Grinchmas did not start until mid-December. Is that true, or will it be going on right after T-day?

I haven't checked this year - but last year it was around December 10th. The
year before it was Thanksgiving. So my guess would be mid December unless
they decide to go back to how it used to be. Maybe the website has the information,

With FOTL it doesn't matter too much except for those few things that don't have it. I've been during T-day before and the Friday and Sat after are the worst. T day can be busy, but not too bad and Sunday it starts to get better.
