What would you do? Sick kid quesiton...

Remember that temperatures are highest around late afternoon/evening, so him hitting 102.7 at 5pm is not surprising. I wouldn't take my kids to the doc for a fever and cough unless it's sustained and over 101 for 24hrs and not breaking with any treatment (tylenol, cool baths, fans, etc.). Fever is not always a bad thing. It means your body is fighting something off, so you need to give the body time to do that.

I wouldn't normalluy either, but with flying out tomorrow morning, better to be safe than sorry. Didn't want him travelling with an ear infection or strep. Strep isn't fair to the other people sitting near him on the plane.

Something else to remember. If your Son is running an off and on fever and you are going to Florida where it is really hot, make sure to keep him hydrated. I would pack some of those propel or pedialyte packets in your purse. Just ask at an counter service location for ice water and mix the packet into it. Ice cream is also a good way to cool the body.

I am assuming you have arrived in Orlando. Hoping your son got much better overnight and you can enjoy your vacation to WDW. I would take it slow the first couple days - don't commando style it. He may feel better but you don't want a reoccurance.

Have a great trip!
