We're scheduled to arrive in Orlando on Sept. 13th. The hurricane will be gone by then, but the clean-up will be just beginning. I'm sure the clean-up will be monumental and Floridians will be needing food, water, gas, etc.... and hopefully many will be able to return home. I feel sort of guilty being on the roads at that time using up their resources and such. We booked our hotel through priceline. I've emailed them about the possibility of getting a refund (not sure if that's possible since it's a week from now) and I've emailed our airline as well. Would you try to postpone your trip or go anyway? My heart goes out to all Floridians and all people affected by Frances. :(

I went the week after charlie and was wonderful the only this was some trees down and the boat in RPR that was anchored in the water was blown on-shore.

I think September 13 should be ok. It will be more then 1 week after and everthing "Should be ok"

You should listen to what happens when the storm hits and decide maybe Monday or Tuesday of this week.

Tough call. On one hand, you don't want to be "an outsider just getting in the way" and looking like you're oblivious to what's happened. On the other hand, Florida is based a lot on the tourist industry so revenues will be lost the longer people avoid vacationing there. I agree w/hftmrock......watch the news and know what's going on (and by Mon. or so) know what damages, etc. have occured. If the parks are up and running and open for business, and your hotel is still available...I'd tend to say go ahead. Like I said, tourist revenue will be needed more than ever......last thing they need is people being afraid to go to Florida. Really a tough call.

We, too, have plans to be there the 13th. As long as the park is open and the hotel has electricty and food, we will gladly "boost the economy" of FL.

My opinion is to come. Heck, if i'm still without electricity, I may spend the day at Universal myself. It beats sitting in a hot house with no air conditioning.
