So two weeks ago i had a deer run into the side of my car.
I was fine, but major car damage.
I had it taken to a repair shop that was recommended by my insurance.
They called me friday to say my car was done, but I was only able to pick it up today.
It looks great from the outside, but when i opened the door I found that they had destroyed my interior.
Its a new car,and a lease through my employer ( 2011 acura) with cream leather seats. The seats front and back are now covered in grease and large glops of a dried glue like substance. Also you can see what look to be pry marks around the door panel for the power windows ( like they took a screw driver and jammed it in to pop the panel open.
Further when I pointed this out I was told " well i guess they figured they didn't have to detail it since it was a nice new car" HUH? I said.. when i brought it here i was perfectly clean now its awful and stained everywhere.

So they finally agree to clean it for me... and give me a loaner car. Well the loaner car is a 1999 buick that smells and is filthy inside. I have marks on my gray work pants from sitting in it.
I'm so angry right now , who do I complain to? I guess the insurance company? grrrrr

I would definately complain to the insurance company. They need to know how bad the service is at this repair faciity. I would also tell the insurance company you need your work clothes cleaned. I don't know if it will do any good, but it is worth a shot.

Couple of questions for you.

1. Is this a prefered body shop with your insurance company? If so the insurance company warranties all work done by the body shop (most body shops warranty their own work)

2. Is this an independent body shop? If so the buck stops with the owner. If not it could be part of a corporation. If it is part of a corporation then you always have the option to go to up the ladder.

Being a prefered body shop you should definitely call the insurance company. Also if you are not happy with the detailing then you can take it elsewhere to have it done and the insurance company will charge the body shop for it. As for the loaner, you can request they put you in an actual rental, not a shop loaner. I would start the process now so it is easier when/if the time comes
