What would you do? Moderate 3 nights or Value 6 nights at "same" price?

Okay Dis members I need your help. I recently booked a dream makers package for August 2005 in a moderate resort. I was quoted $1172.XX plus I added 1 room rate only night, making my total about $1332 (AAA rate).

Here is the problem...... Doing the new 2005 Packages Disney's website writes that a family of 4 (2 adults 1 child and 1 junior) can enjoy 6 nights 7 days (during Regualar season - pretty much all summer) under $1500. My family has 2 adults 1 DD5 - so my package would be at least $150 less. So for maybe $100 or so dollars I can stay twice as long in a Value resort. No, it doesn't include the hoppers, but I really don't need them - because I have 7 days and only 4 parks to visit. I have several plus tickets from previous years so thats not a big deal.

My issue falls with the Value resort. I've only stayed once on Disney property (last summer) at Pop. I liked it, but it was small. We only stayed two nights so it wasn't a big deal, but 6 nights.

Would you stay 3 nights in a Moderate or 6 in a Value?

Personally, I would stay at a value resort instead of paying the same to stay less time at a Moderate.......being in Disney as long as possible is the game plan! Good luck in your decision.

The difference between a Value & a Moderate resort is $25-$47, depending on season, being in a package and any applicable discount codes.

The cost dfference between Value & Moderate for 6 days is probally only $200.00

But, THE LONGER THE VACATION- THE BETTER!

The longer the vacation the better even if it's in a value. The value resorts are really nice and the rooms at the moderate are really not much bigger than the values.

definitely the value - I have only stayed in a moderate, but 3 nights or 6 there is no contest, I would stay 6 without a doubt.

I'll tell you, I was a tad nervous about staying in a value because I'd previously only stayed in moderates and deluxes and offsite time share condos.

I was very surprised at how nice Pop Century is. I really, really enjoyed it and would stay there again. We were in the 50's building very close to the pool and the front hall where the check in and busses are. The busses were maybe a 5 minute walk from our front door.

I did not notice any noise and I am a very light sleeper. My BF did notice a little but not enough to bother him.

I think for more time at Disney, I'd definately choose Pop again over a moderate.

According to Disney's own website there is a $300 difference for the same amount of stay. Look on disney's new package page. The 6 night price is $1500 in Value and $1800 in moderate.

Don't forget. That's also 3 more days of food expenses. Make a list of the pros and cons. This always helps me. If you're not going to be in your room much, then do the value. True, they're small rooms but how much time are you going to spend in the room actually? We've stayed in all three types (deluxe, moderate, and value) and can honestly say we were as happy at the value as the moderate or deluxe.

I have stayed in Deluxe and Value Resorts. I would definitely choose the value resort. We don't spend enough time in the room to really matter where we stay.

Being a disney fanatic the longer the better! Some things to consider though, when staying longer you must add in the additional dollars spent on food, shopping, activities, etc.

I am not a very big fan of the value resorts. I have stayed at the Music and what turns me off from them is they have only one pool along with one food court. The monderates give you more of a food selection as far as food court type or sit down. They also have "quite" pools outside of thier one large pool. These allow you more personal private time with your family. AT the moderates there are also more activities to participate in. Such as surrey bikes and boat rentals, they have these at POR.
You have a tough choice ahead of you. One thing to look into is what activities are going on around that time, and I do not mean with Disney. We were looking to book 3 rooms for the weekend of 1/14-1/16, and got nothing! Besides it being the MLK hoilday, the CM named off 4-5 different events/ conventions going on in Orlando in which the people were staying on Disney property. When I was at the Music, they had cheerleading competitions going on and there were cheerleaders EVERYWHERE. Of course my hubby did not mind at all, but it got a little old and crowded because they all ate at the same time, swam at the same time, and were up all hours of the night!

Yeah I'm thinking I might do the Value. Maybe All Stars Movies. I heard its the latest addition to the All Stars. How old/young is All Stars Movies? Is it still in good shape?
