What would you do in this situation re: PIN Code

I had a PIN code attached to my name, but was never notified of the code by either e-mail or postcard. I only found out about the code by calling Customer Service.

By the time I called, all of the rooms in the block were gone. I called back and explained the situation (I was never notified of the code and now the rooms are gone) and was pretty much told "Oh well, that's the way it goes."

Questions:
Do you think I have a valid point? Is there anywhere else I can call? Should I ask to speak to a supervisor? What would you do?

Opinions (good and bad) are greatly appreciated.

Not much you can do. If everyone called to see if a code is assigned to them, there would be no chance of getting throught to book reservations. I say forget about it and move on.

From what I understand the codes are applied randomly & most people aren't notified they have them, so I don't think you can use that point to argue getting the better rate, or the resort of your choice. But I do feel your pain - how frustrating to find out you had something, but can't use it. Keep calling back - I've found that you can get different rates from different CMs all day long - no idea why, I guess some are just more seasoned at knowing how to find the best rate, and some care more than others. If you do make a reservation - call back randomly to check for better rates & codes - we have done this in the past & they will apply a better code if there is one out there. Good luck!

I am shaking my head over the insanity of that system. Why not just give out fewer codes and actually notify people?

I had actually booked a room in the beginning of January, so I am going. It would be nice to save some money.
