You were angry with someone and had decided to take the "if you can't say something, don't say anything at all" approach but they keep e-mailing you asking if you're upset???

I tried saying I'd been busy but they e-mailed again.

Can you tell them you are upset, but don't want to talk about it right now?

I'd either tell them that this is not the time and you are in a terrible mood and you'll get back to them or just ignore the e-mails until I was in a better mood.

I would either tell them that I was upset and couldn't talk about it now or I would (this is more likely) tell them I was upset and tell them why and the chips fall where they may.

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. Sorry to hear that you are upset :(

Up until just a few hours ago actually I would have told them just exactly how I felt and let the cards fall where they may.....

But the new Beth is taking the same approach as you, if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all. Or just ignore whichever is best for the situation. But I'm talking about online things...if this is someone you know if real life then I think I would try to talk to them about how you feel. It would depend on what they did also.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Sorry to hear that you are upset, Pembo. I tend to take the "direct" approach in most situations. For me personally, I like to get things out in the open and tell people exactly what I am feeling about the situation or problem at hand. I don't like delaying something that is inevitably going to be uncomfortable but would rather say what needs to be said and get it over with.

I hope things will work out peacefully for you. Take care.

Marie

I think honest communication is best, even if that communication consists of saying what you said here.
